New boat name?

oldgrowth

I have a slight problem. I named my (our) boat Miss”T” (pronounced misty) after my wife Terri whom I call Miss T. She was OK with whatever I wanted to call it but, I was not allowed to put the name Miss”T”/picture on the boat. I am the only one that ever called the boat Miss”T” and seeing as I wanted a name on the boat, I searched for another name that she would accept and came up with C-Voyager. She is OK with me putting C-Voyager on the boat, so my question is, should I go through the de-naming ceremonies before finally giving her an official name? If I go through the de-naming ceremonies, can it be done remotely?

I want to go from here

The boat has never been christened or had a name on her because Terri would not let me put Miss”T” on it. I want a name on the boat and C-Voyager is OK with her, so I will just re-name the boat C-Voyager.

I have changed it in my profile, now if I can get Mike or Bill to change my photo album to C-Voyager, it will be official.

I think that Rev. Dave and I would pretty much agree with David ,that if the boat wasn't "officially " christened, then no de-naming needed. just gotta hook up on a gathering so we can pour some of that fine brew,on her bow and christen her the C-Brat way.
More christenings ,more fun.

Hey, far out. I changed your album title for you, does this make me an Asst. Rev? I didn't even have to stand on the dock and give a speech.

I did not change the album name itself in the database because it will break any links to embedded photos you might have. But your profile link and the displayed title is your new - and cool - name. The URL still includes the original name.

C-Voyager. I like it.

Thank you Mike and I thank the others for their input. Someday I will make a CBGT and have the boat officially christened.

I will go to a local sign shop and have decals made so I can finally put a name on her.

The boat was never formally named. You only called it a name--sort of like calling it a "C Dory". I agree the C Voyager is much better. Your wife has good taste.

What is the Font Name for the C-Vorager?
Perpetua Titling MT Bold for the C and Perpetua Bold for Voyager.

I noticed that the font size has to be large (300 or bigger) in Microsoft applications, otherwise the ends are pointed instead of square. However most graphic programs should produce the font as in C-Voyager.

Tyboo,
Heck we all can be Asst. Rev's,I like that idea. I just inherited it from Seashift Dave..he is the original..
As for the C-Voyager graphic .wow, looks really cool.Very Sharp indeed, we can't wait to see it on the water. Good job Dave.

Dave ,
Just as an aside we had our graphics done by Speedysigns.com for both C-Dory's we've had. You can design everything online and order and voila` they show up at your door.

I've decided to change the name of our boat. We named her "Hunky-Dory" in 1990 when we purchased her new in Fairfield California. Since then we have found two "Hunky-Dory's" in that area plus our move to Maryland found another and our recent move to Maine found another. Our local immediate area has two "Hunky-Dory's" up till now. Whereas I'm the newcomer. I'll change my boat name to "Lorraine J". Hunky-Dory is a fitting name for a C-Dory, which all of these were. It's a special boat. I named the boat after someone special to me, Lorraine J.
