Holy Moly!!!
I just purchased a new 2006 19ft for a bargain and fitted it with a 2007 75hp Honda. After 2hrs of break-in cruising around theLB/LA area we loaded up and high-tailed it to Catalina this past weekend...at break-in rpms of course. We then proceeded to start the spearfishing season off right, hitting all our favorite spots, good times and good buddies. Back at just under the first 20 hr service mark I'm happy to say that this is one of the most exciting decision I've made. After about 1 1/2 years of research (including your c-brat forums) I'm soooo happy with C-DORY. The seaworthiness of these vessels is intense. I can't wait to spend the summer fishin. Thank you all for your guidance...and should you have more give me a jingle.

Cheers,

JCastner,

Congratulations on the new boat! And welcome to the C-Brats! Glad to hear that it didn't take you long to break it in. :D
You'll love your CD19, it's a great fishing boat.

I just love it when someone is deliriously happy! :D Congratulations on your new 19. I think that it is a great fishing boat, spear or fly. I found this interesting fly rod last week in Victoria, British Columbia. Seems to cover both bases.

May you enjoy many many wonderful days on the water. Robbi

JCastner, welcome to the C-Dory, SoCal fold! Roger and I and other C-Dory owners are divers here, looking forward to meeting you and checking out your boat. Sounds like a perfect match for ya.

Hello J,

Your story mimicks mine nearly to a 'T' regarding the knowledge gained at this site and the purchase of my first boat, a C-Dory (last year).
It seems we haunt the same waters and with school out in a few weeks, I will be out there weekly, for days at a time if you ever want to hook up and fish (drinking is good too :cocktail ) . I dive also, but not in nearly 20 years...so after a refresher, would love to learn about spear-fishing.
I can't offer any knowledge but what others shared with me here or that I have met through this site.
They are all winners, kind and helpful to a fault.

Welcome,
Jeff

So glad that the C-Dory is so perfect for you -- welcome to the owners 'club' and know you will share many happy hours with other fishing C-Dory owners --

Welcome and congratulations. My first own home was by Old Ranch in Seal Beach, where my kids were born, then Huntington Harbor where they grew up on the water. I practiced at Harriman Jones Medical Clinic--before it became the monsiter it is now--on Cherry and Broadway. I sailed out of Long Beach over 65 years. My parents ashes were scattered just off Ship Rock, becuase of their love of the Island.

Hopefully our paths will meet during the next year--keep an eye out for Frequent Sea, and my Son Todd, or myself.

Enjoy the boat and water!

Welcome to the C-Brats and congratulations on the purchase of your 19CD Angler. The main purpose of our 19CD is for cruising and exploring the PNW (although we do have our shellfish licenses). Quite often we've stayed overnight on R-Matey for 3-4 days at a time.

Also, know the area where you live quite well. Lived there for about thirteen years.
