New 16' Cruiser in Fla

After attending the Seattle Boat Show, I couldn't hold out any longer. And it pays to check several dealers. Seems that some of the dealers in Fla don't stock the 16's, but found my closest dealer had 3 on his lot for some time now that he wanted GONE. His quote was a full $6,000 less than another dealer. Maybe the first dealer wasn't giving me his best price right off the bat.

Came with a Honda 50 (which now has a full 5 year warranty on EVERYTHING) and electric wipers, but that's about it!!. I've listened to all of you and have ordered a Permatrim. I've got lots of questions about extras such as best Fla canvas set-up, GPS, Depth, etc., but will wait to ask for details at a later time.

Green in color; name will most likely be "Lil' Heaven" as I have a restaurant with the name Heavenly in the title, so this will certainly be a little piece of Heaven to me!!

Everybody that doesn't know a C-Dory 16' told me that a 16' is too small, but now that they see it in person, the comment is WOW. I picked it up this past Saturday and each place I stopped for gas or coffee, it drew a crowd. One guy told me he'd trade me his 23' on the spot!! And the females love it. Of course, you guessed it. "it's so cute"!! Steve

Congrats on the new 16 you'll enjoy it. I'm guessing you bought it at Big Boys? I know he's had some 16's on the lot for a while. You'll like the permatrim.

Hi Steve,

Congrats on the new 16. Good to have another C-Dory in the state. I almost got the 16 but in the end got the 19. Now the fun begins. Hope to see you on the water someday.

Roger

Be sure and come to the Gulf Coast Gathering in Apalachicola in Oct. You would create quite a stir if you came on its own bottom, rather than be trailered.--but there is a ramp where the gathering is located.

Congratulations on the purchase.

Hi Stephen,
Welcome to the Dory Family. Always nice to hear of another Dory in Florida. The Comfy Dory is located on Merritt Island and we have cruised up by your way a couple of times since we got her in June of '07. There is a lot of good water north and south of you to explore so, we will probably cross wakes in the future. We live across from Mile Marker 77 just a mile south of the Rt. 520 bridge from Cocoa over to Merritt Is.
We just completed plans for a 10 day cruise the last part of May. We will be launching the Comfy Dory in the St. John's River west of Cocoa if there is enough water or up at Lake Harney west of Mims if the river is still down. We will cruise north beyond Jax and then back down the ICW to our home. The weather should be good and still cool at that time of year.

Good Luck...Tad

Welcome Stephen! Did we see you at SBS08? We were there....

Glad you got a boat, put it on the trailer in early June and come on up to the Chesapeake Gathering. We regularly have a couple of other Floridians there, you could drive up together!
