Good day to all. Mom has hosted many C-Brats at her home and one Thanksgiving, I think we had 6 boats and crews join us for Thanksgiving to start a great Cumberland River Cruise. Many other of you have met her at our annual Seattle Boat show gig and/or Argosy Seattle Lock & Dam Cruise.

Just returned from the Dr. office yesterday and she has another throat surgery set for 20May for some lumps on her vocal cords that have prevented her from speaking for the last month or so. Ya'll that know her realise how big of a deal that is for Mom not to be able to laugh and talk.

She is a bit nervous about it as she had throat cancer stuff removed a few years back and this is a second round gig.
She is a bit tired now from the flood clean up and now this news so please keep her in your prayers.

Patty here. I remember that boat ride and picture! Not being able to talk is terrible. Did you pick up the slack, oh indigent one? We will keep her in our thoughts so she can get back to keeping you in place verbally!!

Not much chance of controlling the byrdboy Patty, that's what we like about him...

Pat B, we're keeping her in our thoughts and prayers, please let us know.

Give Momma a hug and reminder of our love for her - she's in our thoughts and prayers. We know you'll keep us posted, Pat. We'll all be thinking of you, Momma, on the 20th.

Pat & Mike,
We have you in our thoughts and wish Momma Byrd our very best. We have not had the pleasure of meeting yet and it is on the top of our list of things to do...this summer when we take a road trip thru Tenn and Kentucky.

Hello,

Our church is located way down in a valley in Red Lion, Pa.
We will request prayers tomorrow morning. Because of the shape of the valley I like to think that our prayers are very focused. All that said the LORD always hears our prayers.

Pat & Mike - I don't normally respond to threads like this, although I sometimes want to. I'm just a little reserved when it comes to private matters like this. Being on the perifery of this site ( not contributing much) I feel like I would be intruding.

Over the last couple of years, while daily checking the C-Brat's site, I feel I've come to know the Byrdman Clan a little bit.

Forgive me if I 'm getting too personal, but my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family and pray for a successful medical procedure.

Allan

Many thanks to all who have responded....or just wanted to and did not. I understand about the privacy part and feelings, but, for me, I toss it out and let it fall where it may. I know for myself, I take and need all the prayers and thoughts I can get. I have not always been this perfect...   :smileo :smilep :cry

The first time Mom had her throat cancer surgery, I made a similar post, and, as with this one, several responses.

I cut-n-pasted them and made a fold out C-Brat Get Well Card for her to read....while she could not talk. She loved it and was able to see some of the folks in Seattle at the pot lucks and such, or, during the gatherings on the Cumberland as we use her docks, showers, beds and yard to stow our tow gear.

It was a hoot to see ....and hear her thanking the folks for the prayers and thoughts.

Just one more thing that makes this site a special place in our lives.

Thanks again.... and a special Cheers to a great boating family!! :cocktail

We haven't had the privilege of meeting your special Mom but we know she's got to be a strong Momma Byrd if she raised a fella like you !!
We sure send prayers and good thoughts your way --- for your Mom, you all and those doctors and nurses that will be taking care of her.

Many Thanks to all. Going to see Mom today and bring her these comments. I will be out of country for a few weeks...but, will do another cut-n-paste upon my return for any follow on post.

This post is good for one sweet potato with all your favorite toppings at your favorite place. Just let us know when you are ready. You don't have to talk if your not ready. Ummmm that would be weird.
Your in our prayers !!

Pat asked me to post that momma is now home and with a good report. Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers.
