We're going FACTORY!

Dave Thompson and E.Q. have decide to blend our efforts and skills to an even higher degree and E.Q. will become the builder of the Marinaut (the "factory" if you will).

Both Dave and E.Q. wanted to be able to offer the Marinaut "factory direct" and to not work through the traditional dealer arrangement. That's just a more difficult situation for a low volume, high quality boat and would result in a higher price for the boat to cover all the 'levels' of production and distribution.

Often folks purchasing this sort of boat that can be highly personalized and is typically much more than "just another boat" enjoy working factory direct and now we'll be able to accommodate that. And still offer the high quality rigging and outfitting that E.Q. has become known for.

Our building was originally constructed as a boat building shop (like 50 years ago) so now we've come full circle. We're looking forward to this new phase and are very excited to be able to offer the Marinaut 215 built right here by the folks that will hand you the keys to your new boat.

Congratulations Les! I think it's a great move for both parties!

All the best from the Right Coast! :thup

Hey, Les and Kathy, congratulations on the "factory" build for the Marinaut at EQ. Looking forward to seeing a long and prosperous venture.

Great blend, use of talents and ideas. Looking foreward to the end results!

Congratulations.

Congrats Les! Good news keeps coming from the M215 front. Hopefully, you'll have an open house some day so we can all see how it's done.

Les, Kathy, Dave, Ben, et al-

That makes the most sense and is the most positive of anything I've heard around here in a long time!

Yahoo for you and all of the C-Brat Family!

These are exciting times for Les. I would expect it will also invigorate the other facets of his business lines as well.

I'm seldom, infact could almost say never  envious of what others can do with their money and I can not do due to lack their of, but the combination of EQ, Toland and Dave in making the best little pocket cruiser I've seen available turns me almost as green as the money I would need to purchase. Love our 22 C-Dory Cruiser and feel very forunate to own her, but the Marinaut would be in my opinion a remarkable upgrade to it for the type of long range remote cruising we prefer.

Congradulations on entering into this endeavor and sure hope to see a Marinaut cruising the ABC Islands of Southeast Alaska in the not so distant future.

I hope you got the bus finished because you sure won't have any time now.

Pretty exciting stuff!

Sending best wishes for a successful venture for all involved parties! :thup :thup

Diana and I are wishing you the very best of success in the new partnership and endeavor! Congrats!!!!

are you hiring?? good news for every one.

Les and Dave - this is just going to be awesome, best to both of you for a great plan!

Those are gonna' be some nice boats!

Very cool. I'm sure every boat that comes out of EQ will be perfect in every respect. Will Ben be helping with the build too? Will EQ still be doing tuneups, repair and servicing on other boats? Are you still going to sell Arima and Rosborough?

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for all the well wishes! That's awesome! :thup

We'll really have two different areas of operation going; building the Marinaut boats and dealership operations. The dealership will continue on as it always has selling boats and motors, and doing service and upgrade work. Really nothing will change there.

The Marinaut builds will be a separate operation (though physically in the same location), at least up until the boat is "built" and ready for dealership level rigging and outfitting. Dave still wants to spend time in the building process as well when his time allows.

Les,

Great news! Sounds like a winning relationship. I had a chance to look over the Marinaut at Bellingham last year and it looks like a very well thought out boat. Dee and I wish you and all success.
