Made The R-25 Plunge

Well, I finally made the plunge a few days ago and I'm a proud owner of a new 09 Ranger 25 with the 150 Cummins w/ the Smartcraft system. This boat was scheduled to be the show boat at both Trawler Fest and at the Annapolis Boat show. The folks at Gratitude Yachting were gracious enough to let me haul her home. I went up Monday, spent the night in her then hauled her home Tuesday and launched her on Wednesday here on Smith Mountain Lake.

I would like to say thanks to the C-brats forum members for the great info in helping me make this decision - also I can't say enough good about the Staff at Gratitude Yachting Center for their professional and friendly service.

Heres a few images of the delivery:

Idleup, Congratulations on the beautiful boat and welcome to the site. As a Ranger owner I appreciate the site opening to us and get a lot of great information that helps me with my boating even though I do not own a C-Dory. I was one that got on your case a little about your comments on the 21 and the Ranger company. On the whole this is a very positive site and a wealth of knowledge available. Will be looking forward to your posts on tugging and bringing your experience to the site.

Hey, from out on Lake Powell, where there are 2 R-25's crossing paths the last 3 weeks, have a hell of a good time on your new Ranger Tug
(looks exactly like mine, down to the red stripe at the water line, but minus the Bimini I have). Contact me with any questions, as I am about 4 straight weeks into "live aboard" Ranger tugging.

Congratulations on the beautiful blue boat and doesn't it look sweet behind that matching blue Dodge 3500 Dually with Cummins Turbo Diesel to tow it with. What a package! I look forward to reading how it all turns out. C.W.

Well, if you loved the Rangers but the 21 wasn't big or fast enough, this oughta do the trick! :D

(trying to figure out how to bid against Greg in 5 years) ;)

Idleup-

Congratulations!

Take care of that new "toy".

Meaning "toy" in the sense of a wonderfully thrilling new possession and hobby, but not exactly a "toy" in the sense of the price tag!

It's a beautiful new baby either way!

May your boating dreams be fulfilled in the months and years to come!

Joe. :teeth :thup

Wow - thanks for the kind words - we did get to take it out for a few hours just prior to the storms coming up to Va - winds were around 15-25 getting the wide water part of the lake pretty stirred up - I got my first chance to use all "4" windshield wipers - I ain't believe how quiet the Cummins is and just how smooth it runs.

I'll be bugging you guys with a few technical questions but thanks again for the welcome - likewise, if any of the forum members have any questions about R/C helicopters or would like a complementary copy of our magazine in PDF format - just PM me or drop me an email at: mail@rotory.com - I can send you the PDF file (9 meg) or a password to download it from our site.

Regards

Mike, congrats on the boat, hope it's everything you wanted.

BTW, I've flown R/C helicopters, as someone once told me, it's like
"driving a car with bald tires down an icy mountain road at night with no headlights"! At least it was for me. I never got much past the stage of hovering one while wearing a beach towel around my neck for protection in case it started in my direction! I have seen folks hover upside down and go under tables with them. Amazing!

Have fun when the storm passes, it's still blowing down on the Bay here.

Charlie

Ditto on the congrats . I thought I was being humorous when I suggested you get a 25 . You took me seriously ! You will enjoy that boat .

The boat is great. What I love is the picture of the Ranger 25 in front of that great BIG MOTOR YACHT. All of a sudden the Ranger makes even more sense. And I'll bet gets used a lot more. Beautiful comparison.
