Hello Everyone :D Larry and I are looking for a way to get windows that open in the front. I thought I saw someone else with a 16 that had sliding front windows on a 16. Anybody know where we might find these windows? The little boat gets hot in the summer time ! LOL Thanks Larry & Tracy

Larry-

I don't think I've ever seen a C-16 with font windows that open.

The side ones, slide open, of course.

I think they all (CD-16 Anglers and Cruisers) have a hatch in the front deck.

Still not enough ventilation?

Custom opening front windows would probably set you back $500-$600 or more each.

How about a good electric fan or two? Fantastic Fans makes an Endless Breeze fan that is very efficient electrically for about $80. Or you could mount two or more smaller ones for individual comfort.

Alternately, you could add another hatch in the cabin roof for about $250 to $500.

I don't know of any Cd-16's with full air conditioning units.

Joe. :teeth :thup

Are you talking about the port and starboard windows opening from forward as opposed to opening from aft? My port and starboard windows open from aft and I am in the process of changing the way it opens (I want it to open from forward).

That way air will flow better when under way. Right now when you open the window while under way the air flow is behind you when you are the helm or passengers chair.

I haven't found a 100% solution yet but it will involve removing the window and sealant. Then seeing if I can make it slide in the existing channel. Lot of work for a "might work" solution. But it is on my modification list. Though that list is getting really long.

Contact Diamond Sea Glaze and see what they might have, or make--not be cheap. I have put in the 12" x 12" hatches over pilot houses and one opening forward and one aft--they give a very good draft over the helmsman's seat when running.

The Fantastic Breeze fans are great--but Wal Mart has a similar battery operated fan (8 D cells) which also works very well on 12 volts--and I have paid as little as $12 for.

Thanks for the tips, the Admiral wants the front two windows to swing open and lock like like the center window on our CD-25 did, I know it'll be $$, but I wandered if anyone had ever done that mod. before. Thanks Larry
