I am looking for a used 2400. Does anybody have one they would like to sell? looked on ebay and not many used ones come up. No dealers here in charleston. Thanks
 
Why Yamaha, specifically? Originally I wanted a Yamaha for anal reasons (to go with my Yamaya outboards) but after researching I saw why so many others in this group have gone with the Honda. That said, I am sure the Yamaha is a fine generator, too.

One good reason for going with a Yamaha 2400 watt unit is that the 20 amp capacity unit will start and run a reasonably sized roof air conditioner a little easier than a single Honda 2000i, and avoid having to put your total generator demands/needs in quite as much jeopardy.

Two Honda 2000i's will do a lot more, of course, but then you've got two units to plug together and find the room for, plus two times 46 lbs, or 92 total. The Yamaha 2400 is no lightweight itself, coming in at about 67 lbs, as I remember.

I have a roof top a/c and the 2000 handa would be cutting it close on start up.
 
Have you tried the Honda? The reason that many of us have gone with the 8300 BTU Polar Cub, is that it will run on the Honda EU 2000i. That should be plenty of AC for the 22--I have it on my Tom Cat in Florida.
