look what followed me home.

Really nice set-up Tom. You're going to have a great time fishing and cruising on her. Dang good price as well. I looked her over when I had my boat up at EQ for service and I thought then what a nice boat it was.

"We're excited for you Just had a thought Would a commercial fishing license be a good thing to have now that you have this nice 27 footer? Ya know, with this license you could catch more fish than the usual daily limit...which also means you'd get to spend more time fishing

Now, wouldn't that make it tax deductable, and even more fun :wink :embarrased

Congratulations Tom and Susan, Couldn't have gone to a boatier couple.

I want to thank Susan for letting get this boat. I have coveted my neighbor boat for far to long. I first tried to buy it 9 months ago but could not make the price and Don was not ready to lower it yet. Made another offer after Christmas and still could not do it. finally I was able to make the money work and Don meet me half way so we both got what we wanted.

I do feel a little sad that Don had to sell her. I know that if his health was better she would never have come on the market. He put a lot of work and love into her.

So whats 5 feet get me?? 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 feet of back deck to start with. but also a head and a four man table. there is also a closet and more storage then any other c-dory out there right now. but none of that is my favorite part. This boat has a 18" h x 6' long x 7' wide storage compartment under the aft deck just aft of the 100 gallons of fuel. I plan to put all my fishing, crab , shrimp gear back there and out of Susan's cabin. No more mixing of the gear and no more complaining about taking up too much room with my stuff.

I think that 6 people could sit on the back deck and talk with out being crowed. So this boat meets the first rule of boating. Drinks 6 feeds 4 sleeps 2.

After the test drive last Saturday I was impressed with the ride. because she is longer and thinner then a new 25 she sits down in the water a little more and is very solid in turns and when cutting wakes. the extra length helps with the small chop a lot.

We are trying to get every thing switched over from the 22 to the 27 for the weekend and will be out and about cruising over the holiday. One day in la Conner to see my mom and then out to the islands and maybe some halibut fishing, all depends on the weather.

Of course the Susan E will be going up for sale very soon and I have to find a place to park my camper because it and the 27 will not fit in the back yard.

Oh and she trailers very well for those that are thinking its a lot, well it is but who cares trailer is a trailer, just keep it between the lines.

Now I have to buy a shore power cord, dinghy, dinghy motor, new downrigger, ice box, windlass, heater, stove, fenders, spot light, berth carpet, bigger anchor ( what size are the 25s using) repaint a few things , new graphics, rebuilt the kitchen cabinets ( susan needs MORE storage) install a hot water shower, etc.....

Wow - Nice boat! and I'm happy for both of you. With the correct setup, you should be able to fish 4 down riggers off that boat. Not to mention all the room for crab/shrimp pots. Very Jealous. I you need some temporary parking space, I've got some driveway space and our neighbor has been very safe (to date anyway).

Wow that's a nice boat. If you like you can store it down here in Utah in the winter. I would be happy to keep it warmed up for you.

We join in the congrats to Tom and Susan of course!

Only my ideal C-Dory 27 is Aiviq, the 27 Pilothouse.

But then we cruise rather than fish...

Congratulations to you both. This is a fantastic boat--and the cure for "2 foot itis". Should give you a lifetime of fun! There are so many great features of this boat--and I agree that if C dory had made a "modern" 27 or 29, this would be what it should be like!

Tom,
You really got my attention with this. Congratulations my friends, you are really set up for extended cruising now. Have a wonderful cruise this weekend.

Pat i would love to have the pilot house, would be my first choice, but i know that it will never be for sale. I have asked several times if he would part with it. funny thing is that it was for sale when I bought the 22 and I passed on it becasue i did not have a big enough truck. a year later I was given a F350 with a v-10. So that is what I am towing with now. it does a great job with the bigger boat. it will pass everything but the gas pump. 10mpg when empty and 9 mpg with towing. Good thing the ramp is close.

Hey Tom and Susan,

Congrats on a great match, good job. I think you should keep the 22 for a dinghy. Rumor is that your current dinghy will look out of place on this cruiser :)

Tom & Susan,
EQ has been storing your boat for a long time --- glad you finally did right by her & picked her up !! She's had your name on her in caps ever since it came on the market !!!
Congratulations to you both,
Bob & Betsy

Tom:
Wow, she's a real beauty! Congratulations & wishing you all the best of luck. Can't wait to see her when (all fingers crossed!) we make our move up there. We made our Anacortes home offer yesterday & our California home goes on the market 1 June. Take care.
