Lake Powell April 2013

There are a few of us considering a trip to Lake Powell in the spring. So just to throw it out there for discussion who's interested. First we need to find a weekend to plan around and a place to meet up. So anyone who is looking for a spring getaway chime in.

We will get to Powell in late April or early May. Retired so we will watch the thread and try to come whenever the group decides to go.

I have been working on the 2006 Angler and may still get a few days back at Powell before the end of October. Our son in law and grandson were there last weekend and caught a lot of Crappie and Small mouth Bass.

We too are good for late April early May & like the Discovery crew will adjust to date others decide. A April-May getaway to Powell from Wyoming snow sounds wonderful. Our first gathering was at this time in 2006 & still my favorite of all.

Anyone who would like take a trip to Lake Powell in the spring. How would you feel about meeting on Saturday the 20th. Then I guess the next thing would which part of the lake to explore.

Due to timing to be back in Canada for residencey requirements, we plan on Lake Powell for mid March. Early and cool I'll bet but not many boats! Hope to see some other c brats there. George and Carolyn

Here's what the parking lot looked like at the end of December

We will be meeting up with friends and launching out of Wahweap on or about the 19 th of April for several days of fishing and cruising. Hope we will run into some fellow C- Brats.

Jody, the 20th sounds good to us & we will let you & others who are more experienced with Lake Powell & it's water levels to pick the site.

If I'm anywhere within striking distance of the southwest in April, I would like to join you all. I would love to see Powell in the spring, and it would be great fun to meet C-Brats (and reconnect with some from the fall Powell gathering). I think I may be on the east coast at that time, but plans are somewhat set in Jello, so .... maybe :D

What dates are being considered? We'd like to come and are fairly open this Spring.

Right now we are thinking of April 20th. Which ramp would you launch from? If we have people coming from different parts of the lake we would probably want to pick some where in the center to meet.

We live in Las Vegas so I suspect we would launch in the Wahweap area. We have yet to make the trip to Lake Powell but I understand Wahweap is the best location when coming up from our area.

Oh! So close and you haven't been on Lake Powell yet? When you go the first time you will knock yourself on the head and ask yourself why have we waited sooooo long?

We have really wanted to make it, and well before now, but due to some battery configuration concerns with the boat followed by house moves and Mary's knee surgery we simply haven't been able to. She is having another knee surgery in February but we are keeping our fingers tightly crossed that she will be properly mobile by then. In the meantime we've been enjoying Lake Mead.

I'm up for going where ever the group would like to. With the water levels the way they are everything will be different again.

I think we'll launch at Bullfrog again on the 18th. Since there hasn't been further suggestions on a gathering site for the 20th, I'll propose Oak canyon again. It is most always an excellent place to gather with it being pretty much in the middle between Bullfrog & the Page launching area. Any other thought on this?

Jay

Oak Canyon sounds good. I was thinking about focusing on the canyons between Oak and Escalante what do you think? What day do you plan on driving down?
