Kim Christine moves up!

Well, it's official, Kim Christine is now a 25 Cruiser!

After much discussion, the Admiral and I decided to pull the trigger on a gray and white, low hour 2006 25 C-Dory. She has the Honda 150 V Tec with a 9.9 Honda kicker. She is outfitted with all of the standard options with one of the most important, that's right, stand up head and shower!

Right now, she is being cleaned up and will be soon personalized. She needs the name on the side and christening will be done at Friday Harbor in May. A camper back is also in the works for the fall.

Selling our 22 is bittersweet, she has been a wonderful boat and will make someone else really happy, too.
See our listing for details on a great 22 Cruiser.

Very exciting! When you two visited a short time ago, we could tell a 25 was in your future... you made it happen quickly! :thup :thup

Enjoy the new boat, and the extra room. We'll look forward to seeing you (and the boat) next time our paths cross.

Congrats!

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
I guess you can never say, "This will be the last of anything."
This will definitely open up more possibilities for extended cruising and fishing, too.

We're really excited to go out for the maiden voyage. Probably an overnight soon locally and a weekend coming up.

Congratulations....seems like only yesterday you visited our place to view Sea Shift to help decide if a 22' C-Dory was in your future.

Thanks! Went out crabbing yesterday, did well up past Langley on the high tide in the afternoon. One thing I have to watch is the tide at the ramp because I have a bunk trailer now. No more recovering the boat when the trailer is flat in the water with no angle. The good news is that with the increase in interior space, I can kick back and wait for the water to come back in comfort.

Oh wow, That's fantastic! You were talking about a 25 in May so when your message came through that you had a surprise.....I wasn't surprised at all. We are planning a trip out in Late September. Hope there's some crabbing we can do and shrimping! Save up a vacation day or two for us and well do some cruising!

I saw the new Kim Christine at Westport last weekend. Report is that her decks have already been bloodied. Of course, Patrick is a damn fine fisherman and could probably catch salmon in a bathtub. :)

Montana: Crabbing is still open in the San Juans through Sept 30. Don't know about that vacation, since school year is starting and it's a little dicey to vacation. A weekend, definitely.

C Dawg: Thanks for the compliment! That only works when the fish are willing and they sure were. Glad to hear you guys did really good, too. I return the compliment to you.

Congratulations Patrick & Kim! on the new boat. Although I haven't officially met you or Kim, we did pass while we were going in and you were hauling out in Anacortes awhile back during crab season opening. I considered a 25 but settled on the 22 and with all the work (& expense) I have put into it, I doubt the skipper would sit still for a 25 this soon..But if the right deal came along I can't say it would be totally out of the question..I am anxious to try out my new fish box though and get it bloody too,,(I hope.) Good luck with the new rig..

salmon fisher thanks for the thought, was able to do a tear down on it Monday after work it was a total loss. So new one on order and got an email it shipped today from the east coast. Should be back on the water and harassing Coho in a week or two. congrats again on the upgrade a 25' sure is tempting

Sea-C good work on the winch I like it and the fish box. Wonder how many salmon you can fit into there....

Sea-C: Thank you. You sure have put a lot of work into your boat, that anchor winch is skookum. Really like that fish box, too. Do you fish mostly up in the San Juans for coho? I've seen people fishing the "hole" under the Deception Pass bridge.

Local Boy: Thanks, we are really enjoying it already with a trip to Cap Sante and Friday Harbor soon. I might have to talk to you about those shoulder pads you added.

With the limit down to 1 king and a coho, there shouldn't be a problem with filling it up,, Fished almost all day for one 14 pounder last week, and I can't get out again until the 7th, hope there are still a few around. I really need to christen this ugly box with something..

I like fishing Eagle when the weather will let me. Been great weather this year but been getting the newtome boat set up which has been taking away from my fishing time. I just wish it was a 25 instead of a 22 I was working on. I have been eyeing that hole under Deception for years but only tried it one time years ago. Even the beach fishing looks like it might be fun.

I know what you mean about setting up a boat and fishing time getting cut into...
I hear the hole under the bridge is best fished on the outgoing tide with a simple mooching sinker, herring dodger and cut plug. Just get in line and fish, when someone hooks one, move out and away and then get back in when fish is boated or boat moves out. Don't know how that would work in a 25 for me. I usually go to Possession Pt. on south end of Whidbey after launching from Everett or just start at Mukilteo and troll south and back and forth East to West.

Kim Christine is now de-named and has new owners, a very nice couple who live in the South Puget Sound area. Hopefully, they will introduce themselves soon.

Kim and I feel like the boat is in very good hands and the new owners will enjoy her for years to come.
