interest rate for home depot credit card

i use home depot all the time for odds and ends on the boat. i received a home depot brochure advertising spring sales. on the last page they have extended and invitation to apply for their credit card. here's what it says,

with credit approval for qualifying purchases made on the home depot or expo design center consumer credit card, rates as low as 17.99% apr; actual rates from 17.99%-26.99% apr; fewer than half of applicants will qualify for a rate of less than 25.99% apr. penalty apr 29.99% (rates may vary).

so, i may need a co-signer for one of these prestigious credit cards, if in fact that is the case, is there anyone out there willing to be my co-signer?
best regards
pat

ps: are we in trouble or what!

I got a card from them a short time ago but I never carry a balance, it's just there for convenience. They gave me 20% off on my purchast that day (about $200) which is why I signed up. Some don't know it either but they and Lowe's will give the military an additional 10% off at the checkout counter (even us retired old guys). My good buddy Sneaks told me that. It's unadvertised and you've got to ask but they will give it. Our nearest HD is about 75 miles away, the nearest Lowe's about 35.

We should be in the credit card business! Seriously, this is a result of the recent changes in laws about credit cards, banking and credit. Now if we could just loosen up boat flooring costs--oh--that must be 29% also!

Yep. Last dealer I talked to said he was going to fill his lot with consignment boats and hire a couple crack used boat sales people.

I change credit cards often to take advantage of the deals and check
http://www.creditcards.com/ and brick and mortar stores
When I cancel cards, new deals appear sometimes b/c they love me so much that want me to stay a customer
gosh I am blessed.
Last year Chase Perfect Rewards had a promo of giving $50 bonus with every $100 in points redeemed. I am not a math major but understood $150 for $100 logic

great news! heard back from both charlie and dr. bob, both have agreed to be my co-signers and with that news i have just been approved for my new home depot credit card. i have ordered a new $10,000. riding lawn mower and home depot will deliver it tomorrow. because of the financial strength of both charlie and dr. bob, my interest rate was only 26.99%!
i'm not to good with math but that sounds like i got a very good deal. hope i don't lose my job.
best regards

Where have you guys been? I cancelled my HD card when the rate hit 15.9% two years ago. Every offer for any card I see is 25-29% and some have annual fees over $100 for them as well. My credit union has me locked in for 9.9%.

I have the HD Commercial Contractor card (a simple application)...
You are not to carry a balance forward of the billing date (i.e. you pay it off every month) but it is handy for charging items and then writing one check at the end of the month, plus you have an itemized list of purchases... And you get your own check out counter and don't have to wait in line with the rabble... Plus, the coffee is there at that counter... What's not to like?

Dr Bob and I are worried about our investment pat, so we have managed to get a life insurance policy on you. They gave us the money now (we split it) and if something happens to either one of us, you have to pay it back. What a deal!

I got a HD card about 2 years ago when I bought a shed there. At that time I got a 10% discount for opening the card, a $250 "paint rebate", and 12 months interest free on the $3000 shed. I paid it off within the year and cut up the card. I like my shed. Thanks HD.

Good move Marty. I used the 12 month interest free/no payments when we built the house here during the past two years. Never paid ahead of time, had all of that with no interest for a year. Now that they make you do monthly payments (still no interest if over $299), I don't use it any more. BTW, "cutting up the card" still leaves it on your credit report. You've got to cancel the account to get it off.
