My two cents. There are very few dealers nationwide nowadays who sell C-Dory’s. My discussion with one dealer who gave up the dealership is that the cost of the boats has increased to the point that keeping new models on the lot is cost prohibitive. Buyers seek well maintained used boats instead, those that have been fitted and customized. Without a network of dealers, support for any product diminishes.
I know the boating industry is different and there doesn’t need to be a dealer in every town, but regional locations would be a plus.
Don’t know how the boating industry in general is doing in this economic climate, but in my opinion, nothing compares to C-Dory. It is and has always been a niche boat but custom building costs. I financed mine and after 15 years, it is paid for.
Doesn’t a normally outfitted 22’ Cruiser sell for $70,000 plus new? The only boat I have ever owned is my 22’ Cruiser. It will be the only boat I will ever own till I can not boat at all.
I started out as a C-Dog, I am now a C-Brat, but I will always be a C-Dory owner and supporter.
