I think CDory is done

Second post. First one was to inquire about a used boat. You might enlighten us a bit more on this inside information you have to come to this conclusion.

While I can see that the current C-Dory factory presence is a bit weak on marketing these great boats, last I heard they are still making them to order.

This apparently is from a person who does not know how to use a private message, since he had posted in his first post that a person with a boat for sale had "no contact information"....

I don't see any evidence that there is a problem with C Dory manufacture. The current builder has a very long history of excellent work.

We simply don’t know what we don’t know.

As Literature Nobel prize winner Robert Zimmerman (Bob Dylan) wrote:

“It could be one thing or another, or neither of the two.”

I got a funny feeling that CDory is done

Trolling ??? :monty

I think a number of people here do that with their C-Dorys.

It is impossible to fish out of a C-dory they are built for Old people, where have you been?

I was only 45 years old when I fell in love with C-dory's. I must be an "old boat soul", or something!?

My two cents. There are very few dealers nationwide nowadays who sell C-Dory’s. My discussion with one dealer who gave up the dealership is that the cost of the boats has increased to the point that keeping new models on the lot is cost prohibitive. Buyers seek well maintained used boats instead, those that have been fitted and customized. Without a network of dealers, support for any product diminishes.

I know the boating industry is different and there doesn’t need to be a dealer in every town, but regional locations would be a plus.

Don’t know how the boating industry in general is doing in this economic climate, but in my opinion, nothing compares to C-Dory. It is and has always been a niche boat but custom building costs. I financed mine and after 15 years, it is paid for.

Doesn’t a normally outfitted 22’ Cruiser sell for $70,000 plus new? The only boat I have ever owned is my 22’ Cruiser. It will be the only boat I will ever own till I can not boat at all.

I started out as a C-Dog, I am now a C-Brat, but I will always be a C-Dory owner and supporter.

Funny, I know both: Young people who own C-Dorys AND people who successfully fish out of a C-Dory.

Might not just be phishing, might just be un in phormed  :|

And 3 days later ... we still don’t know.

Raeberly: Why, why, WHY?

(One of my grandchildren tells me that capitalizing is like yelling.)

Call me hey boomer, if you must, but I’m just trying to be woke.

I was worried about the impact of boating and sales with the Covid effect but I've been pleasantly surprised.

In my area (boston) every marina is packed, waitlists are until 2021 and lots of folks are still buying boats.

Im boatless this summer and I'm in the market for a 50 footer but I'm gonna wait until next year. Still too much volatility for me.
