I need some design help!

Now come on .... Just think of the points you'd get for Special Effects... and you couldn't be beat in the First Impression category........not to even mention the Animation points you's get... I like it !!!

My first idea was a small blimp holding up the light house...

Jim & Joan: OK, you have some great photos for sure I know. Just put up a big tight white sheet on the viewing side of the vessel, or one on both sides/aft if you want. Set up one of those overhead projector one eye'd monsters and your laptop on the oppisite side of the boat, projecting the images and history onto the back side of the sheet. Set the laptop and projector on a table, and just move the table/projector to the other side if you have to turn about. Everybody loves history, particuarly when gathered around the waters. My guess is that you have some of the best photos taken of the lighthouse. Let the real light house shine to the folks on the banks. Saw this set up on a yard display telling the Christmas story. Great stuff. Not sure how large of a projection image you can get with the projector only 8' away...but, if you set it projector up front, and the screen aft.... 25' would give you a good size pic projection....or, a great opportunity to let some nice equipment get doused. We have used tupperware containers as protectors for the projectors outdoors and in tents and cut a hole for the light/projection to shine thru. Be sure to use clean sheets....cause once lit up....everything shows....even the cat walking between the projector and sheeet. :disgust :xnaughty

And Dogon Dan thought this place was being over-run with "normal" folks??! :xnaughty

Exploding Santa (that should warp a bunch of little minds... "No, Honey, Santa didn't really explode, that was just for the parade..."), mailboxes (on a boat in a parade), and projectors showing the history (hey, we get about 30 seconds in front of the judges, doing a 360 so they can see both sides of the boat  ). Taking apart my sweet little catboat??? Although the idea of a mast on the C-Dory is pretty intri.... now, don't get me started! 8)

I appreciate all the great ideas... even though I opted for the easy way out (although I still have to figure out how to strap down an 8' inflatable lighthouse on top of Wild Blue)... but an inflatable light house... who knew?

And for Brother Byrd... once in while the light house society has "Movie Night" and they project a movie on the side of the light house! :D

Hey Jim, why use straps :?:  Try a gallon of 3M 5200. :disgust Or maybe you'd better use 4200 if you want it off by the 4th of July!! :crook

Charlie
Who's normal?? As my dad used to say, "my mother and father were cousins but I'm OK"

CAD... biting my tongue... arrrrrggghhhhh. Whew. Now, that's self control. :wink

And, Charlie, I believe the proper ending to that quote is...

"My Momma and Daddy were cousins, but it didn't affect me none."

That should be, "My Momma and Daddy was cousins, but it don't effect me none."

Guess it didn't screw any of us up too badly if we'uns can still spel.

Charlie

I remember this stuff... when I was in school, the teacher said to me, "Don't you know your grammar?" And I said, "Sure I do - she's my Momma's Momma."

OK, enough of the redneck jokes. As Warren can testify, I come from a highly refined English heritage... I just have to toss in a few "y'alls" to fit in here in the Lone Star State.

Why attach the lighthouse to Wild Blue...I'm sure Robbi could rig up a fly rod and you could CAST a great light on the gathering multitudes. You might not win but you'd sure be remembered. :P :P
