Wow, tough crowd. After years of running bass boats when I was in the Marine Corps (including "salt water" prepping them and running them looking for Grouper and speckled trout out of Beaufort NC - dont ask!) I bought a 21' Bayliner Explorer when I moved to Alaska. Heavy, underpowered with a 4 cyl Volvo Penta, serious rot in the "Alaska" bulkhead, no deck space etc, etc. etc. it was all I could afford and I loved that boat (memories of cruising into town with a SE Brown bear cape draped across the bow pulpit for effect come to mind - ha!).
A divorce, a stint living on a 36' fishing trawler over a harsh winter, a love affair with a 33' cutter rigged 13 ton behemouth of a sail boat, and then 6 years of fishing the @#ll out of a Bayrunner skiff brought me to a C-Dory. I love the Toland design and enjoy this site for the ideas and general diversion it gives me. Someday; maybe a GrandBanks Europa, now, a 25 year old Angler Classic that pleases my wife and I to no end.
Having said all that, this is a C-Dory site and I guess I am of the opinion that if you have a Cape Cruiser you are welcome to the site, share general ideas about how to enjoy this type of boat design, but dont try to interject Cape Cruiser specific dialog; its not polite.
I get many ideas for my C-Dory from sailing web sites but am respectful of their venue which is always a good idea. Congrats on the new boat and I would love to see it some day.
