Hoisting the dinghy

Some time ago I came across a C-Brat that developed a davit system to hoist a dinghy to the cabin top. Does anyone recall where I might rediscover this posting?

This site is almost as much fun as boating!

Thanks for your help.

That might have been me (maybe you read another post as well). Les Lampman at EQ Marine was going to work with Brooks Stainless to develop a davit but there has been so much turmoil and changes at EQ that I don't think it is going to happen, at least not soon. So I am currently on Plan B, which is two mounting points for a Garhauer Davit, one on the cabin side and one in the cockpit.

Ed-

Go to the search engine above and simply put "Davit" in for a whole bunch of different threads.

Here's a LINK to Les's davit system for the 22.

Warren and Joe:

Thanks for the information.

I am going to opt for Warren's Plan B. It seems to be the most direct and perhaps most economical. When it comes to boating the line between needs and wants does appear to get blurred.

Thanks for your help!

I am interested in Warren's plan also. We are going to build a bracket for the ball which will fit on the back of the cabin house, and the ring on the aft lip of the cabin--and use a 30" arm Gauerhar davit to lift the dinghy onto the roof of the TC 255. Our plan is to have a semi flush bracket which will allow the ball and ring to be removed when not used. Hopefully this project will be done in about a month.
