Hello C-Brats! We have enjoyed this site for a bit and are thrilled to have finally located and purchased our first C-Dory! It is a 2021 23’ Venture Sport and we love it. We’ve taken it out twice on calm lakes here in Colorado, and when we are rambling along, we are getting some water in the boat from the stern between the gas tanks where the bilge pump is located. Is this normal? Where is the water coming from? The drain plug is tight so we can’t figure out where it’s coming from.
Looking forward to planning lots of adventures with out boat. Thanks for your help.

That doesn't sound normal but more information is needed. In particular, how is the boat stored and are you sure it was dry when you started? When one is going a moderate speeds, water from elsewhere will collect in the rear as the bow rises. Even condensation on various surfaces can add up to a cup or two of water when it gets collected. Also, it's not unusual for rain water to get in around the edges of a cover or occasionally through a poorly sealed gas or fresh water fitting.
 
To amplify slightly on Roger's excellent analysis, the water collects under cockpit floors (or the bottom of the cockpit (inner hull glass). This is forward against the bulkhead between the cabin and the cockpit, when the boat is in the water or level on the trailer. Using a slant back cockpit cover may help to prevent this accumulation.

If water is coming over the transom, and leaking thru the splash well area, then this is a different issue. As Roger mentioned, the amount of water is important. Only a few cups--not to worry. If there is a jack plate, then these are somewhat notorious for causing water to squirt up between the transom and motor and over the stern.
