Head East After Powell Gathering?

It's still too early to say for sure - but I'll be watching the thread. I have some committments in October, and don't know what the Admiral has planned for me, but it might work.

...maybe I'll have to get my leave-slip in. Ooh, forgot - I'm Retired!

Best,

Living here on the Tennessee River, I am planning a Fall color cruise up the river and have not set the date yet. (Depends on the leaves). Wheeler Dam is at Mile 275 on the Ten. and I live at mile 285 at the mouth of the Elk River.
Anyone making this trip is welcome at my place. Depending on how fast they drop the water this year I may or may not have water at my day pier but our marina has year round water and we still have open slips that you could use. If not gone on my cruise I can provide ground transportation for any needs you might have. Will provide a way to identify the house later. If anyone has an advanced question my cell # is (256) 318-4608.
Sounds like fun and this a great river to cruise.

At some point I will put together some type of spead sheet as to track C-Brats coming into TN in the Sep,Oct, Nov time frame. Several post...several boats, open time windows. Yall know how hard it is to get me out on the waters...

Will be wraping up getting DARLING from Annapolis over to Joe Wheeler State park...but, the Moorehaven Lock down at the crossing ditch of the Ockachobee is still closed for repair..and they keep moving the re-open date... Time only will tell.

The Great Loop Cruiser's Association's Fall09 Rendezvous 25-28Oct and I will more than likely make that. Have a trip out and back to Oak Harbor at some point this fall/early winter... and then...just what ever boating I can get into in the Cumberland River area.

Rob & Karen have some solid dates on a Cumberland River cruise on another link.

Yall toss out your time windows and over the next couple of weeks I will put some chart together. Who knows...we all may just need to have a Nashville gathering....and cruise in and around the waters around that.

Byrdman... heading toward St. Augustine FL tonight, Daytona Beach on Monday...

Early October, probably. Interested?

We'll likely be back in Texas by October. Oct. and Nov. are our favorite months there... after being "up nawth" and getting a taste of chilly, we get to have another couple months of summer when we get back there.

We'll be heading back to the good ol' USA soon. Keep us posted.

Best wishes,
Jim

Just saw your post due to being out of town. I live on the Cumberland River near mile marker 59.1 so can make the Tn. river easily. When you have dates set I will try to hook up with you. Prefectjohn on board 25 ' C-Dory.

Ei and Bill,
Leaves are just beginning to turn on the Tenn. River here in North Al. It seems to be a little late this year and I don't know if the amount of rain we have had is causing the difference or not. I may be wrong but guess it will be early in Nov. before they peak, unless we see a major change in what is happening. To date there are a few light green and a few rusty. No yellows or bright red.
Have a safe journey in your moving about and I hope to meet you if you make it this way.
Ron
