It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.

thank you, thank you, thank you

Our flag is out. Bill thanks for the article. It is interesting. Each war, and time of service is different. I grew up during WWII. It certainly engrossed the county--and there was the threat, that if we did not win, we would be speaking Japanese or German shortly. The entire nation was mobilized. Everything we did had to do with the war effort. Then Korea--where I had an educational deferment, but that was a detached war, as was Vietnam, and the other wars to follow. There was a much higher death ratio in the wars up until the last 10 or so years. With a real change in medical battlefield treatment and transportation, many lives were saved, but there are far more who return home with life changing injuries. Also our nation is looks at war differently than in the 40's.

Thanks to all others who served.

A great Thank You to all who served and serve still. We owe much to so many
Heartfelt gratitude to you.

We had over 1000 people in the hangar at the Coast Guard base in Port Angeles today for the ceremony. It was really nice.

Hey Rick,

Thanks for starting this, and for your service. Sorry I missed the ceremony this year. Glad you all could make it. A great service I'm sure.

Salute, to all the Vets, and Thanks

We live in the land of the land of the free, because of the brave. What a privilege.
