Pat,

I would feel badly if you just sent me my share of the winnings. To make me feel better I will send you one of my teak helm hubs for your boat in exchange. Include your mailing address with the check and I will send it right off.

Thanks

What? You don't want our bank account and SS#'s? That would be much quicker and cheaper, wouldn't it? Maybe Tyboo or -Nag could add these fields to our profiles for convenience.

Look at all the postage you'd be saving . . .

Pat, thank you so much for your graciousness... but no need to send anything our way. We sold Wild Blue to a gentleman from Nigeria for much more than our asking price. We have decided to move on from this water based lifestyle and move to the Arctic Circle where we can commune with nature - snow-shoeing and putting ear tags on polar bears. My new mantra: cold is where it's at! :D

Best wishes,
Jim B (and Dan was right, I really am like that Captain Jim guy)

ok, you guys bring a big smile to my face and that's the best part of this site. from time to time (for me) it gets just a little to straight laced. i am glad to have met you guys and am pleased you have the same sense of humor as i. have a great day and terrific weekend, the little lady and me will be heading south this weekend to the campbell palatial lake home estate on beautiful lake cumberland. won't splash the boat yet, will be preparing for a motor home trip to the sunny state of florida during april 12 thru the 25.
if any c-brat's are in or around the venice area at that time, you will be welcomed to a cold beverage.
best regards

So aaaaaaa where's my check? I sat out by the mail box all afternoon and nothing. I am building a shed out there with a heater so today I can stay warm as I watch for the mail.

capt. steve,
bit of bad news. the nigerian company that yesterday informed me about having won a mega lottery now tells me i must first send them $3500. to cover administration fees, before they can release my money. i would gladly do that, if it wasn't for the fact that i am currently over extended. so, capt. steve or any one else, if you could send me the 3.5k, (payable to: cash) i will then forward this amount to them and as soon as i receive the funds i will send you all that you are entitled to. this makes perfect sense to me and i'm sure you will see the benefits as well.
have a great weekend.

This is all very funny expect that people fall for this scam. A lady in the Portland area sent $400,000 to the Nigerians before she was stopped. The FBI had to threaten to arrest her to get her to stop  I guess her husband, daughters, friends, anyone walking up the street were just lying to her about the whole thing. the big story
The story tries to make the case that she was intelligent by listing here job and skills. I think that we mistake TRAINED for intelligent to much in this country. More time in school need's to be spent on critical thinking and not mere memory.

Has anyone in the country not heard of this scam yet??

An unemployed Portland woman got involved in a reshipping scam when an online job she undertook was uncovered to be a scam. The woman, whose name has been withheld by authorities, had responded to a classified ad for the position of a bookkeeper.

She was interviewed online by a man who said he ran a bookstore in the gulf city of Dubai. He implied he was presently touring US, shopping for books. The man hired her for the advertised position without much ado.

The job started simply for the woman as initially she received college text-books which she was asked to send to addresses in Ohio and Alabama. Oddly, she was never asked to perform any book-keeping functions.

Her suspicions were aroused when suddenly she started receiving laptops instead of books, to ship. This time she was asked to send the goods to Nigeria, giving her further reasons for alarm.

The woman refused, and it was as well. The whole thing being just an elaborate scam, she would have lost the money spent on sending the parcels to Nigeria had she complied.

Investigators tracked down another unsuspecting accomplice to the scam. Apparently, he was given the task of buying laptops and other equipments online, using what turned out to be stolen credit cards and later shipping the same to the Portland woman.

No trace of the fraudsters was uncovered by the investigators as yet.

well, I am short on funds myself.
Just when my investment in cat pelts was going to pay off, what with the cats eating the rats and the rats eating the cats, the company I invested in, spent all of the profit on R&D aimed at cross breading the cats with snakes. In the long run, I will be rich though, once those cats start shedding three pelts a year.
