Good times, but a boring post...

Took C-Gypsy out to play on the Neuse yesterday. A few hours of pure joy. Nothing like a little Neuse Juice under the keel, eh?

Left Smith Creek & headed for Minnesott Beach. A few miles past Minnesott we did a 180 and headed for Whittaker Point Marina.

We averaged 12 ~ 16 knots with a few runs at just over 20 knots. Water was a little choppy and I was trying to maintain a smooth ride for our guests. We had no destination in mind, our friends just wanted to go for a ride.

Arrived back at our slip, tied up and headed for the tiki deck to celebrate. You really don't need a reason to celebrate in Oriental; almost any excuse will do.

My Helmsmate 30" tiller extension arrived today (just ordered it a few days ago). Tomorrow morning I plan to install it. With any luck at all I'll remember to take a picture or two.

Nothing boring about sharing a tale of a great day on the water! :D Today was a day off for me... I spent the morning moving a broken dock with a jonboat, so we could get it back where the welders could work on it; then got to start my day off. Your day sounded like way more fun. :hot

Thanks for your reply. There really is nothing quite like the Neuse. And Oriental is in a world all its own!

Many times I've seen the Neuse go from being a purring kitten to a raging lion in 30 minutes flat. Interesting.

As for Oriental, it never changes. The people are crazy. The parties are wild. And life is good, even for an old geezer like me!

Jim? Somehow I think my day WAS more fun than yours! :mrgreen:

But I digress... The next few days I'll be working my fool head off paying for the time I spent playing! :beer :beer :beer
