Good day to own a sail boat.

We walked to dogs at Camp Casey (Keystone ferry dock) early this morning and it was gusting over 30 then. The inlet to the ferry terminal and the launch ramp had breaking 3 - 5 ft waves. We saw two sailboats severely reefed in Admiralty inlet

Same at bottom of Saratoga when I took the Clinton ferry an hour or so ago. Sloppy.

Roger, I hope it is quieter for you guys on Friday

Ya know, a lot of non-sailors think that more wind is better for sailing. No wind is kinda sucky. Too much wind is even more sucky. With most sailboats, you can reef the sails down, but at some point, it's just too much wind... regardless of how little sail you have out. Oh, and sailboats "ride" better with some sail up, so banging around out there with bare poles is no fun, either. And since most sailboats are steered from the cockpit, the person driving the boat is "out there", even with a dodger or bimini.

One of the many nice things about the C-Dory is that great protected helm and the ability to "go to wind." 8)

Back in south Texas the wind surfers have a saying: when you sailors are all coming in, it's time for us to go out!

Best wishes,
Jim
