Gmail Glitch Wipes Out Tens of Thousands of Accounts

Have used gmail for years. My wife had a problem on Sunday, she got a notice of some sort of problem and had to have a text message sent to a mobile phone to unlock her account. Mine had no problem. For the most part, it's a great service.

I share Bob's concern about cloud computing but even if you put everything local on your computer, that can "go down", and potentially so could your backups.

Altogether, electronic mail is a great solution to our paper problems but it's killing the USPS. They're doing it to themselves in large part though with very low rates for commercial stuff (I get about 25 catalogs a week) and 44cents (but not for long) for first class real mail.
