I'd just like to mention a new way to clean up those @##$% boat stains. I got this from thataway/Bob when he mentioned using Mr Clean Eraser to remove silicone from a surface.
Well. I looked it up and it's made from melamine foam which is an effective abrasive cleaner. I got a package ( actually Judy got it for me,) and tried it when washing the boat this morn. Those stains that soap can't get, such as black hose residue and insect droppings, come right off with a couple of strokes.
Yes, you can polish them out, but that means another job. Washing the boat is the last thing I had to do before going to Santa Cruz Island, and I wasn't going to get the polish out, etc, etc, and this worked fine.
It will not get the plastic stuff from a dock, you have to use lacquer thinner for that, but for most marks it comes right off.
