Ft Meyers Florida

Looking for a decent marina in the Ft Meyers, Florida area that would let a few boats leave their tow rigs there for a time while we cruised Florida this winter. Looking for first hand information, no need for relaying info found on Google. Thank You in advance.

I have found Active Captain to be a great resource for this type of question. However, one caution--you might want to contact the marina or the reviewer and ask what the current policy is. I corrected some of the posts in our local area, and asked the poster where he got the information. It turned out he had not actually been there, but someone "told him" about it. However, these type of errors seem to be rare.

DD when would you be coming ? Does it have to be in Ft. Myers Is it just for trailer and truck parking ? If it's close to a month they have storage yards for truck and trailer parking that one could use .My community does not let you park anything here . If you Pm me I can work on it for you . Jim

Jim,
We are planning to come down to Florida for a month March 2012. Our friends (Tugnuts) are planning to come down for three months Starting January. We were thinking of starting from Ft. Meyers area then loop down to the tip of Florida then picking up the ICW and on down to Key West backup the ICW or the Hawk Channel and across lake Okeechobee and the canal to the Ft.Meyers area again. Actual route plans to be determined. I guess first we would get to FT. Meyers get rigged up for cruising (a couple days) then off we would go. So a secure storge yard would work somewhere in the Ft. Meyers vicinity. I'm thinking maybe the other side near Stuart might make sense as a starting point for the Tugnuts since we/they are coming down from the north on RT. 95? I'll give you a PM when we actually get our act together.
Thank You :)
