Hey Roger - How has it been going? I see that you have moved up the coast but not posts or pictures. How about an update?

Hope things are going well.

Hi Steve,

All went well. I got in last night. Did a lot car driving to get my Jeep and trailer. I don't have bottom paint on my boat. I couldn't believe the green slim that had started to take hold. It wasn't real bad just more than I expected. I spent the day today cleaning it and the rest of the boat. My little electric pressure wash would not get it all so I had to to it with a brush by hand. All looks good again but I can see that its time for some more wax.

I updated the blog with some pictures.

Hi Roger,

Glad you had a good trip!

It looks like you were on the water for around 22 days. I think that is about as long as I would want to go with out bottom paint. We were out for about that long and had the same thing - a lot of work to get it clean.

Maybe one day we can get out that way to enjoy the ICW.

When I was in Key West on some nice sandy beaches I checked the bottom and saw no growth. If I had taken a brush and gone over it then I'm sure that would have helped a lot.

On the texas trip, I was gone a full 30days and had less.

That is very interesting Roger. Any idea as why you had less growth on that trip?

I was thinking that you might have more growth in the southern waters verses the PNW because the water is warmer and having more sunlight.

I would suspect on the Texas trip, on the ICW that the water was slightly more brackish (more fresh in the mix--but it would depend on the amount of rain and river inflow).

I think that was the answer. Plus all the crawfish eat anything in sight :)
