C-Brats:

After lurking around for what seems like forever, and after stopping by Northwest Outlet in Superior, WI (local CD dlr) on a weekly basis since 1999, we finally found our boat. :D On 2Nov06 I saw the 2000 CD 16 Angler in the parking lot at NW Outlet. Stopped to inquire and take a few photos. Found out Dave Miller of NW Outlet was selling the boat for Dennis Manderfield of Menasha, WI. Mr. Manderfield purchased the boat from Decks and Docks, Sylvan Lake, MI back in 2000.

I made an offer, owner countered and we settled. Took about a week for the papers to be signed and we took ownership yesterday. That's the good news.

The bad news:  we have ice on our lake even though November has been gorgeous (56 above yesterday!). So, I cleaned 'er up a little, winterized the engine, and put the tarp over it until the spring. No intentions of taking it over to Lake Superior until I get my feet wet on our inland lake.

Very excited to be a new CD owner and a member of this fantastic group.

Congratulations Al and Gin! I hope you get as much enjoyment from your new C-Dory as Caryn and I have! Too bad you have to wait for the spring thaw. :(

Al & Gin - congratulations on your new boat. I hope you enjoy it as much as Terri and I enjoy ours. They are great little boats and will go just about anywhere.

Now the fun begins! Well, when the spring thaw comes, the real fun will begin. ;) As a kid growing up in the exotic land of Iowa, I recall the anticipation of getting a bike for Christmas... when there was 2 feet of snow on the ground. :disgust

One of the great things about these boats is the trailerability :thup Perhaps welcoming the new boat to the family is a great reason to plan a road trip?! Somewhere where the water stays soft year 'round. Yeah, that's how it starts... first the "search" (ah, those weekly trips you mentioned). Then, just the right boat is yours. Now, during that hunt, you know you let your mind wander to how you'd use that boat... and somewhere during those daydreams, there was clear warm water, pleasant breezes...

That boat came with a trailer, right? 8) Congratulations on the the new boat and hope to meet you out on the water.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Congratulations on making such a wise decision. Just look at the "for sale" list on the home page-no 16 footers. and for good reason. They are simply the best of the best. Now for that all important 'Naming' :thup

Thanks, C-Brats, for your congrats. . . it's pretty exciting! :D Hey, Jim on "Wild Blue", maybe Gin and I should jump in the Toyota Sienna (tow vehicle), hook up the CD16 Angler and head to So TX. We know the route - my folks were Winter Texans in Harlingen from '82 until last year when they sold their home and we helped them move back up north. They were getting too old to maintain two homes. We had some very nice visits in "The Rio Grande Valley" . . . love that fresh shrimp and those grapefruits!! :smilep :thup :love

Like I said, we're so excited about this new boat, we don't know where to take 'er on the first road trip?! Will keep ya'll posted when we figure out what to name this little honey. Also, will try to get some photos up, but we're on dial-up svc out here in the boonies, so will take some time!!

Gotta get some work done, off to Branson, MO tomorrow, back next Saturday and then the ice-fishing begins!! Yahoo! :teeth

Gosh, I could spend all day and night on this site. :wink

Take care.

I had the same problem as you. I live in the boonies and couldn't live with dial up, so I got DirecPC satellite internet connection close to 10 years ago. It has its problems, but is 100% better than dial up.

You have to if you want to keep up with Sea Wolf (Joe’s) postings.
