Hi C-Dory owners: My father is currently up in St. Paul, MN, (where he is from), and he is very seriously considering purchasing a C-Dory. Is there anyone up there who would mind taking him for a spin? He wants to buy a CD-22 cruiser. Thank you! Kristy in Portland, OR

His name is Jerry Lugert and his email is: sr@lugert.org or sr@cantanchorus.org

Warning: He will ask you a million questions. :hot

Can't help here, Kristi! No Minnesota Brats??

Hi there Pat, and thanks for dropping a line.

I think Dad is possibly purchasing a CD22 from Arizona, will wait and see. He is very excited about these boats, they really are perfect for his cruising needs. We are a sailing family, but it is now time for Dad to have something more practical to really cover some ground.

It looks like a great group, and we look forward to meeting many CD owners. Our first splash will likely be the great Columbia, as we are based in Portland now.

Cheers,

Kristy :dog

Hi Kristi,

There are a lot of sailors who have made the move to these boats. So, tell your Dad to feel free to express his "angst" here - we understand.

If that Arizona boat you are looking at is the 22 at Page, we have seen it in person and it is very clean.

Good luck with the search.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Hello Jim and Joan!

I sailed in Galveston Bay for 13 years, miss that warm water! I will forward your note to Dad (Jerry Sr.), he'll be very happy to hear that. The CDs look like awesome boats indeed.

Cheers,

Kristy,

Keep us posted. You can't go wrong with a 22. We (usually) keep our boat in the Columbia moored at Steamboat landing on the Washington side, just upstream of the I-205 bridge. Right now it's in the driveway getting ready for the tow to Prince Rupert after the fourth for 4 weeks in SE Alaska.

Hope to see you on the water or at a gathering.

Don

Hello Don and Dee,

We are neighbors, Troutdale here. It sure seems like a friendly group. Everyone is happy because they own a CD, no doubt.

SE Alaska, wow! Sounds like a great trip! I did the Al-Can via VW Bug and the ferry about 24 years ago, Petersburg was my favorite. I hope Dad is able to get a boat before the season is over. Good to hear from you.
