We're at Seabrook marina near nawlins and the owner has told us he doesn't think gas will be available for at least 180 miles until intracoastal city. Roger do you or anyone else know of a place to fuel up around Houma or Morgan city?
We might make 180 miles but it would be close. We didn't bring gas cans but might have to get some.

I stopped at the Houma Downtown Marina. It is very nice. There is no fuel on the water but on the other side of the parking is a gas station. I took my 5 gal can and made a couple of trips. It's about the length of a football field.

There is fuel on the water in Morgan City

I just talked to someone at the Houma Marina. He said that their is a fuel dock at 55MM (Collins fuel) The gentleman I talked to was too cajun for me and I'm not sure I got the name right. I'm trying to get some more information.

Fuel at Morgan city on the water. just north of both bridges.
Reo Fuel on right bank headed north just past both bridges
Open 24/7 985 384-8090 Mile 95.5 west

Fuel on the water at Shellmorgan on the ICW south of New Iberia. Mile 160 west
6AM-6pm, Closed on Sundays 337 893-1211

Fuel on the water at Stingaree ICW Mile 336 west 6am- 5:30 7days
409 684-9530

Also 10-12 miles north of the ICW at Lake Charles and at north of the ICW at Beaumont yacht club on the Neches river.

Fuel at Galveston Yacht basin Mile 353-A west just past the ferry landing on the galveston side, can dock at resturants and sailing ship Elissa in galveston harbor. rejoin the ICW south through the harbor to the Causeway bridge

Thanks for the fuel stops. Sounds like we might also be able to get fuel at Talins near Houma.
We are at Seabrook Marina New Orleans. Nice people and we recommend it to anyone coming to the area.

Let us know how the locks go as you go out the Industerial and into the Harvey locks on the Miss. We did find fuel at a small gas station, adjacent to the ICW not too far West from where the Harvey and Algiers locks canals come together. It was on a canal to the South--I think also gave swamp tours in air boats! It was more like a bait shop, they let us tied up for the night and were able to pump diesel to our boat, so I suspect that they might have gas. But--it could have been lost during Katrina.

Thanks.

Quite a wait for the Industrial lock, but the Harvey was a breeze. We were the only boat locking through. Pontoon bridge was open( think it was having repairs) so no wait there. We are at the Houma Town dock now and not another boat here. Really nice Laundromat within a couple of blocks. We are going to try to make it to Avery Island (fuel at MOrgan City) then turn around and head back. Spend some time in the areas east of Biloxi. Weather as far as the evenings has been cool and nice for sleeping. No A/C needed here.

The walmart special 5000 btu does not fit in the cape cruiser 23 window it's an inch to big tried everywhichway no luck might buy a cruiseair 5000 that fits in a hatch ? They still make dometric and the cub A/C I guess carrier low profile are not being built sold ?? The dometric and cub are to high I would like to see a 7-9 inch one still searching for A/C heaven

I went down to the boat yesterday and was determined to make the WM special A/C work I removed the strut holding the front window and Voilla it works put stuts back in place will put skrew with locking nuts on instead of cotter pin so I can remove struts when A/C is needed so I just saved myself $400 for a used hatch A/C This A/C worked great with my 22 cruiser so now it will be used in my cc23 pictures will follow

If you have time, check out Petit Bois Island.

We're headed to Horn Island Sun AM. Is Petit Bois just east of Horn? We're at Ocean springs now. Really nice town. In 300 years the live oaks on our farm will look just like the ones here.
Roger - We won't make it to pensacola in the next few days-maybe by about next weekend. Passing through Morgan city was an experience.Never saw so many different types of commercial vessels in one place before. Never had to check in and out with coast guard traffic control before either.

Hopefully you have enjoyed Mississippi's barrier islands. They are truly a unique experience if you want to be alone with nature. God has blessed Mississippi with beautiful natural resources. Happy Easter to all C-Brats. He is risen!!!
