Crabbiest C-Dory Ad Ever!

Here is his new ad for the boat, Note the url...
Now that IS funny! He found this thread and deleted the extraneous stuff! And he put on a steering wheel! I'll be nice now - there's a good chance that whoever buys it will end up a C-Brat! :D

Mike, where do you get this " my guys" stuff? I always wanted minions but don't really have any. I also did not make any statements about " the public". My statements are about stupid individuals. If you are reading an ad with the price in the ad and you call to ask the price there is a good chance your stupid. Never could understand why people have a hard time with the word stupid. We have all done something stupid, I married my first wife. I've left the plug out of my boat. Hell I went fishing with out my rods once, all stupid acts. Asking about a ad that you have not read is a stupid act. its not an accident. losing control of your car and hitting a tree is a accident. Not everyone is equal in intelligence. Some people are smarter then others and some people are stupider then others. Not a big deal really. Stupid is not a discriminator word it's a descriptive word.

Now as far as craiglist. it is a very effective tool for selling stuff. I sell a lot of stuff on craigslist and buy some of it there too. I don't think a majority of items on craigslist are stolen either. I'm sure there is a lot of that going on but I would guess it only makes up 1% of the listings. remember that craigslist is the largest lister of homes for sell in the world and none of them are stolen. Almost every boat broker in the area uses craigslist to post their listings.

My point was that if you are not aware of the hassles of craigslist you can be very disillusioned the first time you use it.

And Mark, my goodness again. Aren't you a public employee? You and Tom should be thankful for the people who are the public.

Oh, believe me, "the public" is job security. I continually tell this to people who don't do what I do; as regards the public, you have no idea.

Most, yes, most citizens are responsible, hard working and respectful etc. We usually don't deal w/ those people unless they are victims or get pulled over etc. In either case, they are usually not in a "friendly" mood. The rest of my contacts/interactions etc are usually w/ the lowest form of "the public"; thieves, liars, drug addicts, punks, socio-paths, career criminals...you get my point. Hence my "yep".

Plus, I can try to describe it to you, but unless you deal w/ them, day by day...well, we're back to you have no idea.

Or maybe I do have some idea of it, Mark. I have been through a lot in my life.

The danger - not so much on here, but in society - is being so certain that nobody else knows enough about whatever the topic is to participate in it's consideration. I'm not real good on Criagslist myself. But that don't make me stupid.

and no one said using craigslist make you stupid. but stupid people, along with everyone else, use craigslist.

its like boats. using a jet ski does not make you a a-hole, but a-holes do use jet ski's. they also use sail boats, ski boat, fishing boats etc...

No offense meant or inferred, Mike. I don't know what your life experiences are and never said you were stupid etc.

With my job is a daily grind to "solve", in five minutes, dysfunction that has taken a lifetime to create. It takes a toll on ANYONE. Even the most positive of officers looks forward to his/her retirement and leaving it all behind. Trust me.

Sometimes I think that the site could do without some topics/threads/posts. Some might be seen as almost bullying. Just my own opinion here. I think pulling someones chain that you are familar with is one thing but ripping total strangers goes over the line about just being nice
The other thing relates to posts and how people view the C-brat community because of them. We have all done stupid things and a little humility never hurts.
While it's easy to say you know what police deal with I think the real weight has to do with the day in day out dealing with negative situations. I don't want the job and I can't even pretend to know the pressures of dealing with guns and crazy people both in government and on the streets. My kids were taught to never argue with a umpire, not many want that job. I don't want the policemans job either. Mark thanks for being here and there.

and computers

Mr. Savage, you're a wise man. Computers are or should be known as "Instruments of Satan  ". That is especially true if you made your living programming them, or leading people who do program them. Thank goodness I left that behind.

Unh huh. And exactly how did you make that post here? With a smart phone or a computer?

BTW, this is boat related because I'm on our screened porch looking at the boat on the lift only 300' away!

Charlie, I didn't say I wouldn't use the blasted things, just that they're instruments of Satan:-) . After a career in IT, I got pretty burned out on anything other than being an end user. BTW, PWCs, snowboards and snowmobiles fall under the classification of "Instruments of Satan", too. But never would a CDory be there!

Yup me too! Just pulling a friend's chain... Have been head of IT depts, for several companies, never certified (in anything except mental stuff) but used them all my adult life. Started with Sinclair, TRS80, Commodore, IBM 1450, 360, etc. Don't understand my thesis any more, a digital simulation of an automatic combustion control system on an aircraft carrier. Now retired several times, consulting almost full time and still having fun... Mostly with boats and marveling at the things in the digital world!

I do have sailing friends who think anything on the water without a sail is "the dark side." Of course, I occasionally feel compelled to remind them that their boats have an aux motor. For every "instrument of Satin" believer, there are those just itching to get their hands on that instrument.

So, has anyone heard if the boat sold yet?

Mark thanks for being here and there.

I appreciate it, Dave. I really do. Funny thing is when it comes to work, we in the field really don't hear that all that much.

HOwever, I actually did have a guy recently who had over $50K in various warrants from different agencies. He was very cooperative and actually THANKED me for taking him to jail. :o He said he was tired of looking over his shoulder everyday and he was only 22 yrs old. Most aren't that "thrilled" and I've been called all sorts of insults. So has my wife and even my mother. I usually tell them "you know where I work" when I drop them off.

Same w/ VW's. If it's not 100% stock, it's a "dark-sider". Yet when they ride w/ me, they want the power & the speed.
