Folks this is a 7 year old thread, apparently drug up asking about a bench seat (?)

"Ed" was a "guest" and seems to be long gone.

Guilty as charged! Yeah, I was just looking for info about how that bench seat was mounted. Now that I'm in the market for a new (to me) 19 I'm doing lots of research on various topics. Sorry for digging up old threads! But maybe it could also be fun for the Brat legends to see the old threads again! LOLOLOL

DR. Bob Im sorry I didnt look before I spoke, this sight has served me well, and with that I say farewell Brats. Ive been removed several times for not participating and I feel I dont have the social or academic skills to be here. Thanks again for the davit and other good ideas

Jim,
My apology. My comment was not meant for you. We all do this, and many seasoned posters. as well as myself, are guilty.

Private e-mail sent to Jim.

Stick around--your comments are very welcome.

Bob

WHOA WHOA! Don't leave the site. Last time I checked this was a free site and a free country. Also don't judge yourself so harshly, only GOD can do that.

I have revived several very old threads instead of start new ones on the exact same topic. Is that verboten? If so, maybe we need an archived thread section.

I'm new and still learnin' the ropes, so to speak!

No - it's not verboten. The only "rule" is "just be nice". That said, I commented on this very old thread because I didn't realize how old it was and my comments were directed towards a fellow (the original poster) who is no longer here. I probably should have noticed the date and it would have saved me a little time had I done so. I would suggest that when one dredges up an old thread, that your post begins with something like "Dredging up an old thread because .....". That would be helpful (but it's in no way required because the only thing that is required is that you "just be nice") :).

I had been following this thread since shortly after the new comment. The "new" comment was a question about this seat bench in a 16, not particularly related to the OP question which was almost 7 years old.

The question asked was this"
love the custom bench seat on this 16. I'd like to have one made for my next boat. The picture seems kinda deceiving though; like an optical illusion.
Is it sitting on the floor? Or on a bracket or ledge of some kind?
I put the comment on the age of the thread for two reasons:

First no one seemed to realize the age of this thread (July 2009 was the last prior post), and it seemed to be somewhat futile, since the OP had not returned since then (that we know of).

Second, the question asked about this seat, and the height off the floor, which was not answered in the posts. I did give my opinion to the poster in a PM.

This is an opinion, which may not be valid. When we resurrect an old thread, there are some risks, including that the question is well answered, the person has resolved the problem, the OP has gone away, or (as in this case), the subject is not related to the original thread. My feeling is that the question about the seat should have been in a new thread--then others who are thinking about a bench seat, or have a bench seat could respond, and also find it in the "Search" engine.

I am guilty as others are. There was no intent of criticism of the individual who took it as personal affront. (I have not had a response to my personal e-mail of apology to this individual as of yet). I will personally apologize, since I hope Jim will be at the Hooton gathering.
