Cockpit floor lining

Please excuse my ignorance of the proper terminology but I am still a non-owner that has been doing some serious looking. Can someone tell me when C Dory started putting in the cockpit liners in the 22 Cruiser so those in the cockpit are not standing in water? I have seen only a new boat and a 20 year old model and none in between. Thanks and what a great site with many folks who are willing to graciously suffer questions from uneducated noobs.
 
We rarely had water in the cockpit of our 22. We did have the "Dri Deck" grid, then a 5/8" high density closed cell foam anti fatigue mat covering the entire standing area (plus the inside of the cabin)--never had a "standing in the water issue.
 
While not as nice as the new ones, I put a commercial kitchen type rubber flooring in my 22 year old angler. Even in driving rain the water seeps back to the bilge area and it makes for nice comfortable cushioned flooring. Comes in 3'x3' snap together panels (4 used). Only drawback is it is a bit heavy compared to the Westmarine type Dri Deck snap together tiles (might add 75#). Picture 3 in Rod holder bar sub album shows this.

I did the bare floor with wet feet for over 6 months then the kwik tile thing for over a year. Great improvement and easy to clean. Then I had a third party install the factory floor as a up grade. best thing i every did to the boat, well execpt for the custom fish box. I really like the boat better with the floor installed. I think that if you are not going to fish, crab ,shrimp, swim,duck hunt, clam, etc.. then you can get by with the stock floor, but if use your boat for more then sight seeing, drinking and just plan old laying around get the floor. :wink:
 
I have a 2006 and the factory offered an option that year, kind of a halfway transition between no floorboards and the level floorboards in the newer models. The option is two large fiberglass panels sized and angled so when laid in the cockpit the entire cockpit floor is covered and there is a seam running forward-aft down the middle of the cockpit where the two panels meet. The cockpit floor is then flat. Each panel goes from the thickness of the glass at the gunwale to about an inch and a half lip at the center of the cockpit. They work quite well. I have stored a landing net under one side for long periods with no problem and, for the last two years have had an indoor outdoor carpet laid over the top of the cockpit floor. It is kept in place with heavy duty two sided carpet tape. When any water gets into the cockpit it runs under these two panels and the carpet and my feet are dry.
