Celeb C-Dory owners

I need to acknowledge Tom Elliot and say thanks, 'cause like him, I didn't have a clue who Tom Brady is, other than he has Bidarka. Heck, I don't even like hockey.

What a Riot !!... I thought it was only me too..... I just can't get excited about team sports.... I like personal sports.... fishing, boating, shooting, and stuff like that..... but sitting down and watching someone else play is not any fun for me....... I gotta get my hands into it....tune it... paint it etc....

I would not have guessed that so many of us were in the dark...(About Sports)

OK, here's the deal/my dilemma.

My 20 year old daughter (a sophomore at Illinois State University) wanted me to buy a Malibu ski boat instead of a CD22 Cruiser. She doesn't ski. She just thought she'd look better on a Malibu. Knowing the only way I could look better on a boat meant I HAD to buy a CD22 Cruiser (with its totally enclosed cabin), there was no other choice.

With the prospect that Tom Brady (the QB) might actually own the same boat, I quickly (and nervously) told her the big news. All of a sudden, the CD22 is no longer an "old man's boat" (her words, not mine)...she starts calling her sorority sisters telling them what a cool :smiled boat her Daddy has bought, and wouldn't everyone want to come to little old Greenville for some very (now) hip boating this Spring and Summer.

I ain't saying anything to her...don't nobody else, neither.

Well thanks for clearing that up. I have never taken a serious look at group sports. the only time I followed foot ball was when a buddy had a monday night football party every week with a lot of good food and all of his wives single friends. Those were the days.

I have always been a camping 4x4 fishing boating hiking kind of guy. the only competitive sport I really got in to was Shooting for my unit in the corps. I was coaching on the range at the time and shooting rifle and pistol matches on the weekends. that was a lot of fun but still a individual sport.

comment about the opportunity C-Dory had to exploit a name recognition opportunity. I had NO idea the thread would EVER take this twist :sad. As a matter of fact, in the first post I even said that Tom and his lady are REGULAR FOLKS. And once the thread did take this twist, well, I'm just too nice of a guy to pop anyone's bubble. :teeth

On a separate topic, I've been considering switching careers and becoming a journalist.....

Maybe the Weekly World News is hiring. They are short on boating stories. A search of there site with the term "boat" only led me to one story entitled "HONEYMOON COUPLE ATTACKED BY GOLDFISH!". I'm sure you could do a better job than that.

OK,,, Leave that TN transplant, electronic gizmo C-Brat Tom Bradey alone guys...

He and I enjoyed some of his old home waters on the Cumberland River just before Christmas this year. A great day on the waters.

Glad to have you back home for a spell Tom... See Ya later in the week on the NW corner!

Dan,

Speaking of the Sunrise/Sunset thread you wrote:

Thought I'd start a thread where people can post sunrise/sunset pics to share. I was inspired to do so by this view out our living room window in Fairbanks this AM (pic taken today at 0955).

So my question is, a picture taken at 0955 from Alaska - is that a sunrise or sunset? One in the same?

Hey Pat.... Ya gona bring some of that pulled pork with you ????
Roger, PJ , Sue and I were just talking about you and that pork....kinda a toss up which we liked better...... Ya gotta admit that is some pretty fanciful eating..... but I think you might have won...

Talk to You Soon

No, no. It's darn near spring now. Today sunrise was 10:11 and sunset is'nt until 17:54. That's five hours and 43 minutes. We're cooking.... :smiled

Is that the new math? If the times are right, it's 7hr, 43 min; if the 5:43 is right, better check the times. Does this have something to do with global warming??? 8)

Ah, just checked weather there... the sun should have set there at 3:47 today, or 15:47. Well, at least I don't feel so bad about you working from sunrise to sunset.

I believe football Tom B does own a C-Dory 22. It is one several dinghies carried aboard his boat, used mostly for rainy days. :wink

Mark

Maybe I was mistaken when I talked to the owner of this yacht and it really was Tom Brady instead eh. Only Dan was a little off on size really it was a 14 not a 22 footer and I appoved of his other choice of boats too. One of the others was a Mokai.
