CD and speakers in Oregon

Anyone know of a good shop to take the Dory to to get a CD player and some speakers installed. I'm not the electrical type and stay away from wires whenever possible.

Bring it here to Chesapeake Bay and I'll do it for free and let you keep the boat at my dock while I do it!

I'll even show you how to do it, and let you help me put the radar, depth sounder, second GPS, autopilot and extra radio on the Captain's Cat!

What a deal!! 8)

It depends on what type of music you'll be playing.....

I have never been to the place, but I have heard good things about Rodgers Marine Electronics on Marine Drive in Portland. I'm not making a reccomendation one way or the other, just suggesting you look into it.

If you get this done before Cathlamet I can bring some good old country flavored CDs to play at the dock. Older rock is OK too, but I am certain that the folks in Cathlamet do not alow rap. But times are changing, so who knows. I'll bring earplugs, just in case.

I can hear it now: "Who let the Dorys out? Hooo! Hooo! Hooo!" :note

We enjoy Jazz, Country and what not. No rap or hard rock. I don't need anything too high speed. Just something that makes a bit of sound when we're enjoying dinner and want some background noise or enjoying the day fishing.

Well just get some old and new stuff by Hoopy and the Blowfish. He's doing country now and will probably make it even bigger than he was.

See you about half way betwixt us on the river.

My experience with Rodgers Electronics is they are very good. Good products, good service, super techs, but it all comes at a price.

Lloyd,

Rodger's is no more expensive than Worst Marine, plus you get the benefit of their techs as you mentioned. I think highly of these folks.

Bryrick, push come to shove, I can help you install the stereo. You get to do the work mounting things. I'll wire it.

Greetings, Many ideas on sound systems and we like our tunes also. I thought we would want speakers and a regular system of some type. However with an I- pod (2000 songs so far ) and a fantastic portable radio called a Tivoli audio pal (henry Kloss) We are more than happy! I am pretty fussy when it comes to music but I find this works for us and sounds great, plus its all portable, rechargeable, and no more wires running all over, kind of a keep it simple soluton. I would be happy to show you at the Cathlamet event. How about if I play Taps at 10:00 on my horn at the C-brats dock. Do you think this would be appropriate? Roger Juntunen, IN CAHOOTS, Idaho

Hey Roger, good to see you in here buddy. Sorry we won't make it to Cathlamet but I will be on the porch listening for Taps at 2200. SaA lute,

If you're willing to use the free dock at Kalama for a day, I can recommend my sound guy. He owns a shop in Longview but lives in Kalama. Easy for him to come to the marina. He installed a nice CD player with an IPOD jack.

I'm certain he would cost less than Rodgers.
