Hi C-Brat friends,
No Captain Jim this week. In fact, it may be a while before we see one again. Here's the note I received from Dan...
---------------------
Hi Jim,
I wanted to let you know that the Captain Jim comic strips will be created on a slower basis for a little bit. A gentleman from a comic book studio contacted me a while ago about possibly drawing for him, and I have decided to pursue some of his work since I feel that I am ready to move to the next level. Therefore, I will have to put some of my other projects to the side while I do this. It doesn't mean that I am stopping the comic because I still believe in its future, I just would like to start making money. As I get an opportunity to draw a Captain Jim here and there, I will get them to you. I apologize to my faithful readers who look forward to reading the comic strip each Monday as well as you and Joan. I have enjoyed doing the strip and it has helped me get to this level. Anyway, I will update you on my progress with the studio as I move along with my drawings and hopefully gain a contract with it. ...
----------------------
Dan is a hard-working guy and deserves all the best. Besides teaching and coaching (his baseball team had a perfect season this year), he has been doing weekly comics for us and the school and various graphic arts projects. I hope you will join Joan and me in wishing him all the best. He has appreciated all the nice comments and encouragement here.
Of course, I have a vested interest in him doing well... I'm expecting he and Steph to take care of Joan and me in our old age.
Best wishes,
Jim B.
