Canadian Boarder opens April 1st

I've crossed the border a few times since April 1st (by car not boat, but this still applies).

The Arrivecan form is a bit of a pain and time consuming to fill out at first, you must upload your passport information and photos of your vaccination certificate. You only have to do that once however, for subsequent trips, you just need to fill out your trip details. If you commonly travel with family, you can all file the same form.

It's been nice to return to Canada and see some friend I haven't seen in person for two years. We are looking forward to some summer boating trips.

John, I don't have a passport. I use Washington Stat'e "Enhanced Driver's License" to travel back and forth across the border. Do you know if that's acceptable for the ArriveCan form when travelling with a recreational boat?

Sorry, I don't know. I can't check for you because I'm already in the system and I can't start over to get to the point where they ask for documents. The best thing to do is to start working on your form. You'll first provide an email, then assign yourself a password...at some point you'll get to the part where they ask for documents...and then you'll know. I hope it works out in your favor.

While I don't plan any Canada travel right now, I thought I'd go ahead and get registered with the ARRIVECAN site. https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/ ... vecan.html
I didn't find it too hard at all to get registered. Had my and my wife's passports and COVID Vaccination cards in front of me. Pre-scanned our vaccination cards onto my computer to make uploading them easier from the PC. Took all of about 6 minutes maybe. Also downloaded their app on to my iPhone. Now when I do plan Canada travel, all I have to do is open the app or log on from my PC to fill out the travel data. Colby

I found this last night while filing a trip notice with ArriveCan:

"The ArriveCAN app also has optional travel document scanning technology. This makes it easier and faster to enter your travel document information. The following documents can be scanned:

passport
FAST card
NEXUS card
enhanced driver's license"

So I think you are in luck!
