Happy Canada Day...

Happy Canada Day to all! These days, it seems like I spend almost as much time in Canadian waters as US waters. I'll remind our guests on the boat today about Canada Day. Heck, it was barely two months ago that we were celebrating Cinco de Mayo... where does the time go?

Tomorrow I will celebrate, also - not because it will be World UFO Day (yes, really), but because July 2nd comes only once a year!

A toast to our neighbors to the north! :cocktail

Best wishes,
Jim B.

We leave for Alberta Nat Parks for a family gathering of hiking, camping, and enjoying the Canadian Rockies for a few weeks. My g'mother was Canadian and we have had a close affinity to that wonderful country all our lives. Happy B'Day - our condo is flying the red Maple Leaf!

It's not too late. Happy Canada Day to all our friends on that side of the border. Enjoy and take the day off, OK

Thank you for all the thoughts on Canada Day and all the best and great fun for all of you south of our border on July 4th. Valerie and I just got home from 4 days on Thalassa our first real overnighter had a great time. The Dory is really a thing of beauty, other than a meeting in the fog with B.C. ferries and the Wallace not working it was all great. Spent last night in Poets Cove with fireworks and all the trimmings. Back to the trenches tomorrow. Argggg
T :D

Thanks and back at you on the 4rth!

We watched the boat parade at Port Dover - everything from family boats, tugs and 50' yachts. As they passed the bridge they started to close ranks and the wind started to hit them - it was quite a display of the skippers ability to hold position - no joy sticks on a lot of the older boats! Directly in front of us a 28' cruiser engaged reverse to hold position and it stuck, couldn't engage forward or get it out of reverse! :amgry He had to kill the ignition and luckily there was a cement wall on the lee shore. The windward side was rocks! They didn't panic tho - his wife threw a line from the bow to shore and they were guided in. After the traffic on the river cleared a friend of theirs in a Zodiac (40 Honda) tied up beside them, turned them around and towed them back up the river! It looked easy, so I'm thinking he knew what he was doing!

Fireworks at night over Silver Lake - a great day! :D
