I just bought a new to me, 1999 22 foot cruiser and I'm looking forward to exploring the areas around Vancouver Island and the Pacific North West.

I've had it out for a test drive and now I'm busy packing and organizing for its maiden voyage, which should be lots of fun.

My previous boat, a 19 foot MacGregor Power Sailor, was named Island Explorer because that is exactly what I wanted to do with it. My C-Dory will be called C Gypsy because my goal is to be a "nomadic or free-spirited person" living on the ocean at least part time this summer.

Now, I am an official C-Brat. See you in Nanaimo.

Welcome aboard Gypsy. Great to have another Vancouver Island C-Brat join the pub. I fully understand the reasoning behind your boat name, I called mine Nomad. Post pictures of your maiden voyage when you can. See you at the Ladysmith gathering.

HI, Welcome C-Gypsy, has a very applicable connotation. Good pick for a name.

Good to see you on the site here. Hope to see you on the water somewhere around the island.

C-Jeep, I was up around Maple Bay a bit ago. Was it around the time the sea plane turned upside down in the bay there? I was there that weekend.
Maple Bay is a beautiful area.

That would be about the time frame. I gave a wave but my eyes are not as good as they once were. You are right, Maple Bay is beautiful. I remind myself how lucky we are each time we cast off.

These two boats were parked together at Echo Bay.

Welcome aboard, that's a normal docking situation for C Dory's
When we pulled in to Big Bay after Hole in the Wall and Yaculta transits the dock guy said...."you guys win the littlest, cutest boat of the season award!"
Unfortunately not a cash prize but there you go
Not many cruisers up that way
Have fun on the boat
