C-Dory Sightings

On my way to go kayaking in Tomales bay I saw a C-Dory going south on Hy 101 through San Rafael. Sunday 4/30 9:45am. Looked like a new boat.

Spotted a gray 22' cruiser up by Grizzley Island/Montazuma Slough Sunday the 23rd of April. Was that you SeaSpray?

So I'm trudging home, south bound on I5 around Woodland WA and I spots a C-Dory headed north. The name on the side was "Nancy H" anybody we know? :)

bncwaitr,

Yes that was me and a friend exploring the slough. I also saw 2 C-Dorys not far from the Grizzly Iland bridge. They looked like they are local boats to people that live or have cabins on the slough.

Where were you?

Steve

Ken,

That was us! We just made it home an hour ago!

Who was fishing along the north side of Seattle's I-520 Sunday just after noon? Spotted you from the tower at Volunteer Park.

Steve,

I was fishing a little east of the Monty bridge from the shore. My C-Dory won't be here for another 2 weeks :sad My buddy saw you from afar and said "Now THAT'S the kinda boat you need!!" I said "yeah I know" that's why I ordered a 16'!!

In the land where the C-Dory is not common . . . Lake St. Clair (Michigan) . . . "Mack" was in the Boat Crew training class (U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary) that I helping with; I wasn't listening to him, as I talked with my son, until I thought I heard "Dory". Then, as we briefly introduced ourselves and talked about our boats, I mentioned by 22' Cruiser; he has a 19' Angler . . . so he had to drop by my slip and see the boat! As we were leaving my slip, a 19' Cruiser was being launched at the boat ramp . . . so we had to go over and talk C-Dory!! Since I knew the "C-Monkey" (16' Angler) was just over on the next street, my son and I stopped in to talk with "Karl" (we had emailed each other before, but had never really met) . . . and we talked more C-Dory!!
It was an out-of-the-C-Dory, mystical (actually, "Mystic", is a 22' up on the North Channel), experience!!!

[The water is soft, and, at 53-57 degrees, is as warm as it usually is at the end of May!!][/u]

Is the revdr a Decks n Docks customer? I have a 25 where the Detroit River meets Lake Erie (Gibraltar). What waters do you generally cruise?

Catman,
That would be the Even Keel trolling North of 520 on Sunday. The fish outsmarted us though.

After having dinner at Skyline Marina in Anacortes, Caryn and I decided to look at some of the houses on the hill overlooking the water. We spotted Playtime in the driveway. Nice looking boat, I think it was...green

bncwaite,

Congrats on the new boat!

I have seen several C-Dorys in marinas around the delta but I don't think the owners cruise this site. I was surprised to see the 22 and 16 anglers at the private docks just east of the Monty bridge. They look like they are used as workboats.

I use mine primarily for cruising when I can take longer vacations to PNW or lake Powell.

I will look for your boat when I get out again.

Steve

Looked like a 22 inside the Youngs Bay Bridge this afternoon. Driving too fast to see the trim color. That you, Tyboo?

There is a guy/boat that goes by the name "Fish Wisher" that frequents a local fishing site I go to. He's usually around the Rio Vista area in his blue 19' angler.

bncwaite-

Fishwisher is Dale Gilliespie, the original founder of the C-Dory Owner's Group website, now archived on MSN. You can drop "Fishwisher" into Google and find his own website. He's quite a sturgeon fisherman in the Delta. That blue boat is a C-D 22 Angler, which has a shorter cab than a Cruiser, and can be mistaken for a 19 easily. Joe.

That's him alright. Nice guy. Quite the fisherman I here.

this morning I'm flipping through the Oregonian newspaper and low&behold on the front page of the sports page is a nice picture of the inter-tribal fish agency trying to scare of seal lions with their fire sticks. They where driving a C-Dory. http://www.oregonlive.com/

 Yesterday morning my Son saw a C-Dory on Hwy. 20 heading to Fort Bragg, CA. Was unable to see a name but said it was white with blue trim and had no back. Thinking it must be a 16 or 22 angler.

Flip - I believe that would have to be a 16 cruiser/angler or 19 angler. The 22 Angler has a rear cabin bulked and door on it.

I was passing over the New Melones Reservoir on Hwy 49, near Angels Camp, CA on 5/8 when I noticed a 22' Angler trolling just south of the bridge. Who was it? Inquiring minds need to know.

Incidently, I went home and told my wife that it was a sign that I needed to buy my own C-Dory. :thup She asked me who the sign was from. I told her that for me it was from God. :crook I then told her that for her, the sign was from the devil. Unfortunately as usual, she (the CFO) was not impressed. :amgry Oh well, C-Fire Someday.
