C-Dory Sightings

Saw a 16 or 19 Cdory cruising past my house on sunday, down the sammamish slough, they were throwing breadcrumbs to the ducks, didn't see them until they were aways past so I couldn't flag them down and find out who they were or get a great look at the boat. But I'd recognize that transom from a long way off.

Yesterday when I returned the CatyMae to Sportcraft Marina in Oregon City for the big "swap out," I saw a 14' (I think) with red trim named, of all things, Hunky Dory, in a covered slip by the walkway...anybody know whose it is?

Hi CatyMae n Steve,

I met the folks owning that 14 footer briefly at Sportcraft (I was getting some parts) as they were dropping it off for maintenance.

Very nice people, live in Portland I believe and have traveled down the Columbia to Astoria years ago in it.

Mentioned the Cathlamet gathering to them which we have not yet signed up but hoping to go if the schedule allows.

I picked up the susan e from les with the new kicker and then ran over to anacorties to get gas. spotted a green 22 with twins that drove by. They honked but I could not see who it was. ran the boat out for a few hours and light fishing. evey thing seems to be ok, but the fishing sucked as did the weather.

During the Boca Grande Pass dive cleanup we spotted a 22' Cruiser by the name of " Cracker" . Hailed them on 16 but got no response. Probably thought we were dangerous as we crossed the ICW directly in front of him to get a better look. Water was rough and Cracker was approching the channel to Miller's Marina and was more than likely occupied with his navigation. Also was approached by one of Bulldog Boatworks employees at the boat ramp in Punta Gorda. Just wanted to let us know they are the new Dory dealer here which we already knew thanks to this very informative site. Regards to All....

Most Excellent....that's sure a good lookin boat sittin in the water!

While cruising through the North Portland Harbor yesterday, I spotted 2 mystery 22s. A light gray one facing east, moored in a slip at Sundance Marina with twin Hondas. Couldn't see much more than the transom, so not sure about a name. The memberlist shows a brat by the name of pgsequei with a matching boat description. -that you pg??

The other was a no-name green one tied up to a floating home a little further west on Hayden Island.

Looked at the Brat Map but no pins in this area.

There's been some mention of a Willamette River cruise and lock-through. The river is navigable up to Ash Island just south of Newberg, OR. -Would make for a fun CBGT - but that's another forum.

Last fall we cruised thru the locks in Oregon City. It was a hoot. Five locks in all. I don't know the elevation drop is, but the two lower chambers are quite deep.
The locks close for the winter. I don't know when they are going to open. I'm sure they have a web site.
We have been all the way from Ash Is. to downtown Portland. fun day cruise.
Count us in for a cruise of the locks.

HAMMERHEAD was seen retrieving his C-Dory from beautiful Lake Tahoe today (April 13). And it looked brand new after that wash down.

I was very embarrassed to be seen getting out of the water in other than a C-Dory and without fish. Next time, I promise to be a little more sociable. The lake was very calm and you couldn't ask for better weather. :D

We were traveling South on I-5 coming from Mt Vernon WA ,after a nice dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant ,and we saw a C-Dory ahead of us. we sped up to catch it and there it was, The Luna-C . we passed them and waved at them, then got off at our exit to go to Conway.they kept on going Southbound....lol.....

I just stepped out of my office in downtown Olympia, WA at 12:50 PM and was surprised to see a C-Dory pulling through the Grey Hound Buss Terminal. There were a few shrubs and cars partially blocking my view so I did not get a real good look. It looked like it was a 19’ or maybe an 18’ Angler. Had a name on the V-berth area but couldn’t make it out. It had a main engine and a large kicker, maybe a 15 HP. The trim color of the boat was dark, maybe black or it could have been dark blue or cabernet. It was towed by a full size pickup (dark color). As it left the terminal, it appeared to be heading south, maybe for the freeway.

Yesterday when I was heading north on I-5, I say a 22’ C-Dory in the parking lot near the Military Museum at Fort Lewis. Just got a glimpse of it from the stern.

It looks like they are starting to pop up all over the place.

Just got my new "Good Sam Highways" magizine and it was talking about places and things to do. There was a picture of a C-Dory. Don't have the picture here in front of me or where it was at but will get it later today if people are interested.

The boat's name is "High Tide". The caption with the picture is "If you love fishing, then the waters surrounding Alaska are the perfect place to cast your line. Trolling for king salmon is popular in Cook Inlet". :thup

I-5 Northbound this morning, just before 8, right about at the Hwy 34 exchange where we were cutting over to Newport, we saw a U-Haul truck towing a pretty blue C-Dory...anyone we know? Someone moving?

We also saw Ramblin Rose over at Newport...nice boat!

We took a cruise from Steamboat Landing just east of the 205 Bridge to Bonneville Dam with a stop at Beacon Rock for lunch. On the way we saw two C-Dorys; Meat, a red 22 was fishing along the oregon shoreline between Crown Point and Beacon Rock; and a no-name cabernet 22 angler cruising along the Washington side in the same area. It was a beautiful day to be on the river. I think we'll go again today.

Saw what looked like a 22-Cruiser motoring down the Foss waterway. Turned around down by us at Foss Landing and motored back out. It was about 5:30 and the sun was shining so bright that I couldn't really tell the color, maybe blue??

While driving past Channel Islands Harbor today, I saw 'Dive Cat".

No one was around, so I admired, photographed, and left.
