C-Dory Sightings

Peter - You brought it on yourself by announcing you would be there. Suprised that Tom & Susan didnt stop there too. Maybe tomorrow
So true. I was just kidding. It was great seeing you. We'll have to fish for some lings soon.

It was a pretty weird turn of events that led us to bumping into Peter. We were headed up to Blaine for our NEXUS renewal interview and decided to take a detour through the Skagit Valley tulip farms. We drove by a few and Shirley searched on the computer for other interesting sights. She announced we were only 15 miles from Rockfish Bar and Grill (Anacortes Brewery); who can pass that up? On the way to Anacortes we drove by Twin Bridges Marina and I saw some Kingfisher boats I wanted to look at. I told Shirley we were gonna stop on the way back to take a look. When we did, I saw C-Dancer sitting outside and figured Peter was coming to pick it up to moor in Seattle for the season, but I found him toiling away on various projects inside the cabin.

It was a pleasure to visit with you, Peter, and look forward to seeing you during Shrimp season.

April 6 "Bootleg Hooch" @ I-405 Exit 5 area heading south
April 9 "Lori Ann" @ Anacortes
April 9 No name 27' Aircraft carrier @ Marysville. Just a black stripe
April 10 "C-Change" @ Elliott Bay Marina south end

Wow Chromer you sure cover some real estate in your quest to spot C-Dories! Good job

I need to correct one thing. C-Change was at Shilshole not Elliot Bay

Due to a lot of factors and including where I live, I have been N-S-E-W around C-Dory capitol of the world. Just reporting in

While staying at Point Hudson Marina in Port Townsend Apr 7-10, we moored close to a 22 with a teal camper back and black stripe...previously C Cakes!
Met the new owners Brooks and Diane and had a nice visit with them. They are excited about their new boat and all that Barry and Patti did to make her a great cruiser. I had the pleasure of rowing their Adirondack Guide Canoe. What a sweet craft!
Hopefully they will make the FHGT.

Patrick and Kim Walker,

Hi, glad you got to see C-Cakes. Have been wondering were it went off to. Great to be out on the boat. Hope you enjoyed the trip.

On my way to outrigger canoe practice this morning I spotted "Sea Cruz", a grey (I think grey - got to pay better attention !) 22 Angler heading toward the boat launch ramps in Monterey, CA. It was a beautiful morning on the bay. Good to be alive!!

We were up in Door County at our Cottage and noticed a 22ft C-Dory on HWY 57 headed up toward Sturgeon Bay. Never see any C-Dory's in this area - and of course, I recognized the tow vehicle - Colby (which lives a mile from our Madison area house).

Hope you had a great time up there - jealous you have your boat on the water.

Saw a bunch at Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, and several scattered around Island County. (There were 43 registered at the CBGT, and 6 locals at the docks there. A pretty good sight, good for the eyes.

I saw Ticket Wednesday night, in the PT Point Hudson marina, getting ready for the Race to Alaska, working as a media boat. Also saw Brook on Ticket out in the throughs of the beginning of that race just east of the Point Wilson, working around the edges of the rip.

Out for a evening fish and crabbing last night of Sidney Spit and saw what looked like a 22 heading down Sidney Channel but could not read the name. Twas a gorgeous night.

I saw a 22 in Maple Bay doing what appeared to be a shakedown cruise. I was not close enough to see the name but appeared to be a black stripe. May be the same ShellBack spied at Sidney Spit?

Well, today while I was at Lummi Fish Supply in Bellingham, I ran into Jim Davis from Minnesota, C-Dory Blue Rose! Jim remembered me from two years ago when he came to the Taproom as part of the SBS/CBC! We had a pleasant chat for 20 minutes or so!

Yes Pat, I remember speaking to Jim and his wife for a nice chat at the Taproom. Will they be boating over the next week or two? If so, did you tell them to come to the Poulsbo gathering? :smiled

Peter
