C-Dory Sightings

Hi Harvey,
That was us at Matia a week ago on Sunday morning but at 0600 we were sound asleep. Shoulda' rafted up to us and we'd be surprised when we woke. Would have enjoyed visiting with you! By the way...why are you boating at that time of day!?!?!?

Hi Peter,
You still haven't shown me in the rule book where it requires you to name your boat.

Internet was down when we got home Saturday night and just got it back today (Tuesday) and then you realize how much you enjoy your connection to this wonderful group!

we were out off of Camano Island near rocky point pulling shrimp pots today and saw a 22 cruiser named Crabby out of Arlington pulling crab pots.

John, Nice digs :mrgreen I was at the dock at Sucia, and needed a run to charge the batteries. Also needed to be sure I had a spot at the dock for later in the day. Nobody looking for dock space but me when I got back to Fossil bay at 0700. I went out to Patos later, saw a Seasport that looked like it had a C-Dory deck and cabin on it. Tried a few "C-Brat"calls on 16 & 68, but no real reply. Sorry I missed you.

We were returning to Whittier Labor Day when Jody noticed this C-dory following in our wake; same modal and color as ours. Then the guy passes so now we are following in his wake, a much better ride and sort of fun. Then all of a sudden he’s wallowing in the water, ran out of gas. We pull alongside and offer assistance but he waves us on, they had extra gas.

My new to me TomCat should be passing through the midwest today for arrival in Seattle on Tues. So if anyone sees a Tomcat 255 with twin Honda 135s and a black strip headed west on I-90 and being towed by a truck with another trailer on top, let me know and wave to Cory the driver.

Roger, You are not getting anxious are you

{Please excuse some of the language. I couldn't be choosey.) This driver was in front of me at the fuel desk.

Don't know if they were headed to Powell but about 6PM passed an Oregon plated Cape Cruiser with two kayaks on top on I 15 just north of Las Vegas. Gave them a thumbs up as I made the exit to the 215 Beltway.

I was in my white BMW Z4 with F4FXR USMC veteran license plate. I made a round trip to Ely today so wasn't in the mood to follow and find a spot to chat.

Still wish this thread had a link from the home page link box.

Spent some time wondering around Port Townsend today and found the Jenny G tied at the Point Hudson marina, on there way home from EQ. Had a nice visit with William and learned the story of his user name.

Nice looking 22 with a camperback and a nice back porch. Looked comfy.

Saturday, I was towing C-Change back to Lake Washington after spending the summer moored a Shilshole. As I was cresting the Lake Washington Ship Canal bridge (I-5), I noticed a boat being towed ahead that looked really familiar - another C-dory 22 cruiser. As I went by I waved at a couple towing "Chester". We towed in formation for a few miles until I reached my exit.

We spent last weekend in Friday Harbor and noticed Chester moored there as well. Hope you guys had a nice trip

I was westbound, close to Butte MT on I-90, about 7PM, when I saw a Westbound 22 Cruiser, red with a cockpit canvas across the median, Looked like it said something like Annie Leigh, in a fancy script style font. Sorry I didn't get the tow vehicle. Hope your travels went well. You probably didn't see my wave.

Sleepy C,

That Red trimmed C-Dory w/Cockpit canvas might have been us.

We were on I-90 on the way to Butte, MT around 7pm last night.
We just returned back to Colorado Springs tonight after 2 weeks in the
San Juans. Man, I hate that drive from Colorado Springs to Bellingham
and back but we had a good time.

Harvey- Did it look like this? (On a trailer, of course.)

Must be David's former 22, no?

Joe. :teeth :thup

Joe, Well, that is close. It was on a trailer YES, and I was doing about 75 mph westbound and he was doing something close eastbound. The Sun was low and to the west, mostly in my eyes looking that way so not sure if it was the cabaret or the brighter red. the cockpit had a transport canvas, (from aft cabin roof down to the transom, and was white, if I remember right. Didn't see any antenna and don't remember if there was a radar dome. Figured it might have been on Flathead or down at Yellowstone/Teton area. Who knows?

Nice picture of David's boat though. Thanks,

Harvey

Mike, Sorry I didn't get the name right. Glad you made it home OK, and had a good time in the Islands. Nice photos in your album. Radar -- a nice addition.

BTW, did you ever get info on that "funny" spot under the brass bow strip? I believe there was a thread about that a while back. Seems everybody has one. It's the C-Dory belly button, actually has something to do with separating the hull from the mold or something in that process, I believe. Nice meeting

Saw a red 16 Friday afternoon. It was being towed east bound between Sequim Bay and the Discovery Bay junction on 101 about 1630. Single and a kicker, looked fishy. No name.
