C-Dory Sightings

We were checking on the new yet to be named CD22 today at the factory when wandering through the office I stopped to admire some C-Dory photos. One caught my eye. The one of the "low rider" Sea Shift. How much gear/people did you have in that boat!!?!

Chris, off hand I don't recollect which photo you are speaking of, but routinely we traveled with the three of us, one dog and all of our gear!....now you know why we found it necessary to Super Size Sea Shift!
During the winter months however, it was usually only me on the 16' since the family found it too cold for their comfort. (Another reason for the Super Sizing.....ahhh the Wallas will be soooo nice!).

Congratulations on your new vessel !!!!! :thup

It's confirmed---3 CD22's being housed at Twin Bridges Marina:
Anita Marie
Amigo
Why Knot
Dave, they are spread out through out the marina so I doubt their doing any talking--atleast I hope not.

Just after we launched for the first time on our own last week, (right after "Roberta's Baby" picture was snapped) a 22 C-Dory came in under the bridge. It too lives at Chambers Bay. Yesterday as my brother and I worked on the electronics, in came another 22! So, at least 3 C-Dorys are at Chamber Bay, but I suspect that there are more as there are 40 or so storage units. Anyone know these boats? or others at Chambers? Robbi

Chambers Bay and Creek are about 6 miles south of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in south Puget Sound.

Robbi, as far as I know your C-Dory makes a total of three at Chambers Bay. I'm the 22 Cruiser "Maria Consuelo" you saw on your first day out. I've been at Chambers Bay for about a year and know of only one other C-Dory at CB until your arrival. Dave, The CB Marina & Storage manager would know for sure. He told me in advance a new C-Dory was coming. I'm sure I will see you often. I plan to launch Saturday morning about 9:00am to do some fishing. Chambers Bay is a great location for a C-Dory.

Hello Bob, I might just be down there in the morning and hopefully meet you. My husband talked to you briefly on Sunday when I dropped him off after we launched. Look forward to meeting you. Robbi

One week from delivery of our new gray CD 22! I was up camping on Stewart Island in the North San Juans this past weekend and spotted a gray CD 22! It was the Tommie D. Steve, the skipper, took delivery last fall and caught a 23#er off the Fauntleroy dock Lincoln Park area on its first cruise. The boat is named after his grandfather who put a pole in his hand at an early age.

Wednesday night about 10:30, just south of Roseburg, Oregon. I spotted a C-Dory in the moonlight streaking southbound on I-5,as I was struggling north with my 100,000 lb triple trailers. Could it be one of the Brat's headed for Powell maybe? Hmm, the mystery.....

I wasn't streaking - just doing the speed limit! I drive a white over gray F-250, long bed with a white shell. My 22ft cruiser was without any motors as I was headed home after having work done at the factory. If you got close enough, you would have seen "BOAT" on the license plate.

I topped the tanks off at the truck stop in Medford & called it a night in Ashland.

Our closing speed was probably between 120 mph and 130! Good eyes!

Had a reverse CDory (CBrat) sighting yesterday. We were coming up the Swinomish Channel at LaConnor when a guy in a bright colorful jacket and bike helmet was waving extra hard at us from the dock. When he took off his helmet low and behold it was Catman on a break from his tulip bike trip. We stopped for awhile to say hello and talk about our upcoming Lopez trip, small world.

While driving south to Bandon, OR on Friday at approximately 7:15AM spotted a green 22CD northbound near Exit #59 (Vader, WA). Also there's a 22CD that's stored just north of the Fort Lewis Military Museum. Then today on the way home about 1:30PM noticed a green 16CD southbound 1-5 near Mount Vernon. While we were in Coos Bay we drove by the old C-Dory dealership but didn't see any CD's in their lot so don't know if they're still selling them at that location.

Hey Thanks for clearing up my mystery sighting Bill. Being a C-Brat, I always am on the lookout for C-Dory's.

Ruth, I have seen that C-Dory in the vehicle storage area at Fort Lewis too. Been there quite a while .It has a name on it but I can't get a long enough look to decipher it..

Today, Sunday, about 7:30 p.m. or so, I spotted True Story heading northbound I-5 in Olympia. Hey I love those Gray C-Dory's...

Spotted two 22's chugging through La Conner. My dockside princess wave caught Fred's eye, and he and Robbin motored over for a closer look at the brightly colored, bumble bee-like creature. Later, Louisianna Joe and his trusty sidekick also pulled up.

Fred, it was nice to see you and the gang. A sunny Saturday in the San Juans, bicycling and boating. What fun that was, and what an improbable coincidence that we ran into one another.

Well, maybe not. Remember, this is C-World, a parallel universe where the unusual is commonplace, and the routine filled with happiness.

On Saturday and Sunday, April 24/25, there was a 25' cruiser moored at Paradise Cove RV Park & Marina in Wheeler Oregon. Had WA register, Black trim, (not grey, black) no name. Looked very old with a ca. 1970's Johnson main. Left a note but never heard from the owners.

We tied our 16' on the other side of the dock to avoid any unwanted calving, although this 25' looked old enough to be out of milk any way :D.

We saw a grey stripped 22 cruise by Hat Island last weekend. Was it you Luna-C? Next time stop by. Email me if you want the phone number at the cabin. Anyone else cruising by is welcome to stop as well. Deb

Luna C is always near, but it was not us this time. We'll make it out in the summer some time! For now, it is the San Juans on the weekends. Is Haileigh's Comet back on the water?
