Price on any product is based on supply and demand. When supply drops, and the product is still a wanted item, the value goes up and the price paid to acquire the item will follow. When no-one wants the item, the price will fall so the seller can unload.
On something like a boat (read C-Dory), the price will follow the pattern. However, there will be a range and that will be dependent on the condition of the product. A boat that is stored indoors, cleaned and cared for after each use will have a higher value than the same boat, same year same accoutrements, but has been parked outside in the weather, under a tree, never cleaned and waxed, just will not have the same value -- maybe by thousands of dollars.
I think the average C-BRAT has a much higher than average knowledge in the marine and boating world and due to that, the average C-Dory will have a higher value that Brand X of the same year. There are outlier's, for sure, but those go to both sides of the pattern for both C-Dorys and non-C-Dorys.
Whatever, if you are looking at getting insurance for your boat, be sure your agent does not use NADA for a boat value. You may not even be able to replace you dingy.
When the factory dropped the 16 and 19 foot boats, my prediction is that the value of those boat would go up. Don't know if we have seen a big swing yet, but in isolated cases that has been true already. What is true is that those boats have not come up for sale as often as before. If those boats are well taken care of, and I think most of them are, they will be worth more than new price.
On the other side of the fence, the boats that are being turned out of NMI now are good, high quality workmanship, but when they come out and don't have the C-Dory trademark Shearline and Brow color stripe, they don't look like C-Dorys and I think those original purchasers are going to take a hit when they want to sell a "C-Dory" and it doesn't look like a C-Dory. We saw that happen recently on a rebuild that sold for less than rebuild cost because it didn't look "right".
That's my Marketing of C-Dory 101 version. Of course there are other opinions, but they are just opinions  :? as is mine
