C-Dory Naknek: New Home

C-Dory Naknek has a new home in Gig Harbor, WA.

I trailered her to Gig Harbor this week, and we completed the deal and on-the-water orientation yesterday. I'm sure Brat's will see her in the Puget Sound area and probably farther north as well.

Although it feels strange to be C-Dory-Less it will be interesting to see what "new door" opens next.

At the moment I'm in the truck/camper, and hijacking wifi off a nearby motel in St. Regis, ID headed back to Arizona. ...and enjoying the $4.999/gallon diesel!!!! Wow!

Best to All,

'vice C-Dory Naknek

*but I'll still be on the Brat's as always (some addictions just aren't breakable!)

Casey, Thanks for the update on the delivery of Naknek to Puget Sound. I knew that the boat had sold, but I missed the post about it coming to Gig Harbor. I was driving eastbound on hiway 16 just west of the Narrows Bridge a few days ago when I saw a 22 headed westbound. Was I surprised to see the name on the boat! Did a real double take. Sounds like Naknek has a nice new home. I know that you will miss her, but I also know that you appreciate every minute that you spent cruising Naknek. May the door that is opening bring you as much pleasure and joy as your adventures with Naknek.

Glad you will be hanging around the pub. :beer

Have a safe trip home, and give Sandy my best. Robbi

Congrats, Casey... somebody in Gig Harbor got a very nice boat. It's a bitter-sweet time when a great boat goes to a new home.

I got your e-mail. Hope it works out that you can swing by.

Best wishes,
Jim

Hello Casey,

Congrats on the next step. Selling a 22 IS a bitter sweet feeling. I sold mine about a year ago when I bought a displacement hull for the Inside Passage. Having owned a 22 for several years and seeing bunch of them, "Nakneck" was the best laid out, thought out, CD 22 that I had seen and you took super care of that boat. Congrats to you and the new owner.

Are you going to do the IP in a Whaler again?

Casey, If you want to do the IP again with the Manana, just let me know. I will sell it back to you. No worst for wear. I think I have put twenty hours on her.
Are you shoppimg for another boat? Bigger ? smaller?

We were heading north from Jackson, Wyoming, Casey was heading south through Yellowstone... some broken cell phone calls to coordinate and... we met up a few miles south of the park. We turned Big Red around and met him at the next pullover. Spent the next hour and half visiting in his camper. A C-Brats mini gathering alongside the road, neither of us with a boat.

Travel safe, Casey, and thanks for taking time out of your LONG trip to visit with us.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Hi All,

Thanks for the nice comments.

I'm passing through Evanston, WY and had an opportunity to hijack a wifi, so decided to check emails, etc.

Shawn: I didn't remember that you sold ToneiO. what did you buy?

Darrell: No, I don't think I'll be doing the IP in another Montauk (but it WAS a fun trip!)

I'll be home in a couple days, and check-in with the Boss (she might not like NOT being an Admiral any more!)

Best to All,
Casey

We had a nice visit with Casey yesterday. He called to say he was in Richfield, on his way back to Arizona. He was getting two tires replaced at the local Big O Tire store. We picked him up and took him to lunch. We spent two hours, or so, talking retirement, C-Dories, future plans, and the high cost of fuel. I hope we can get to see Casey and Sandy next winter at their new place in Florida.
