Hi,
New to the group. I'm very impressed with the C-dory 22 cruiser. I live in Austin, Tx. Is anyone active around Austin?

thanks,

Karl

Karl - I hope someone around Austin sees this and responds...Patty and I did our Peace Corps training in Austin from June to September of 1968 at Dexter House at the University of Texas. My main memory is that it was HOT...

howdy,
i live in austin and also intrested in c-dory.

just recent i observed a 25 in sydney harbor.

seems to be very few in this area.

quoted 85.000 with 7 month build, no problem on time.

i have a 270 sundancer on travis at this time for sale.

however i have not been aboard either a 22 or 25.

seems there are no dealers close to austin or any used equipment.

i would like to visit a dealer to see if this will be my next craft.

any help i would appreciate.

best regards

We have been winter Texans for years and are about to become full-time Texans (when we aren't out cruising). Our CD-25 will be built sometime in late July to early August and after some NW shakedown time, we will be bringing it back to our home in deep south Texas (Port Isabel). Last year, I tried to find a C-Dory in Texas to view... not an easy prospect. Feel free to contact us if you haven't gotten to see one by this fall and are up for the drive south. I've had a couple other inquiries off-list from Lone Star residents - maybe there's a need for a dealer on the Gulf coast?

Good luck with your search. We went to the Seattle Boat Show in January to see one in person... it's worth the effort.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Jim,

I have my 1989 22 Cruiser at my house in North-Central Austin. If you are interested you are welcome to stop by and have a look. Last Fall I spent a considerable time looking for a C-Dory near Austin. I finally found my boat in Matagorda.

regards,

Karl

My oldest son spent a couple of years in Lockhart, TX while working as a counselor in a 'subsistance' type camp for incorrigable teens. He is now in Houston and loves surf fishing all up and down that coast. I am hoping to trailer my C-Ranger down that way sometime to do some coastal fishing with him, so am all ears about any good marinas/fishing spots, etc.. I have enjoyed visiting the San Marcos to Kerrville Guadelupe area for years during the cold winters up here in Kansas.

I think the shallow drafts of the 22 CD and 25 CD ought to really open up some good areas of the Gulf down there.

I agree with Jim that a quick flight to Seattle to sea trial the different models is well worth the trip. That is a fun city with lots of entertainment, food, etc., not to mention all the neat boats.

Good luck on your new boats! John
