C-dory factory on fire

Oh no! This is so awful to see.

Joe, I'm sure others have been there much more recently, but when I stopped in there last summer (2013), some of the C-Dory molds were in the parking lot to the left of/below where the 16 is on the roof in the photo above (dark and not in flames) (which was the visitor parking area at least at that time). I was looking them over because it was interesting to see the various parts of the molds and how they look compared to the actual finished boats (you know, like "22 deck" and you can see how they have it all set up with various reinforcements, etc, all industrial/angly looking on the outside and then smooth C-Dory shape on the inside).

Of course that doesn't mean they are still kept there now since that was over a year ago, and I don't know about the other boat lines.

Strangely (given that I have only been in that area a couple of times ever) I just drove by there yesterday and the day before. How gut wrenching. My heart goes out to the crew there.

Condolences to the factory owners, workers, dealers, and everyone else involved in the production and distribution of their products, including the expectant owners of new boat builds.

Still waiting for more news.

Joe. :disgust

Sad and awful, they were flourishing and improving their business operation. I hope they will rebuild.

This is a good opportunity to send them a donation and letter of support.

Terrible news. I sent an email off to Mark this AM. Hopefully they have good insurance and can recover from this. Perhaps there's something we can do to help also. We'll see.

Glad that nobody was hurt. Hopefully they did not suffer loss beyond what they can quickly recover from.

I saw that there were at least a few people who were ordering or getting ready to have a boat built here.

I just talked to my dealer and she said she had not heard about the fire and is checking on the state of things and will get back to me.

I cannot see how they could get into production any time soon.

I feel bad for those with boats in production. i suspect our deal is over for now.

This morning we went to the C-Dory factory. There were fire investigators at the scene along with the owners and several of the employees. Ron was quite busy but we had a chance to speak with Mark Wright for a few minutes. We asked Mark how many employees will out of work due to the fire. He replied that twenty people are now without a job. He hasn't any idea at this time what the future holds but will keep us posted on the C-Brat site. He appreciates the C-Brat support. Oh, most of the C-Dory molds were outside. The building was gutted from one end to the other. We took some photos which I'll soon be posting. This is just devastating.
