C-Dory Dealers

Is it just me? Am I missing something?
I was looking up C-Dory dealers on the C-Dory website. They don't list them anymore. Your referred to Triton Marine's website and can only give your name and e-mail and they will get back to you with a, I imagine, local dealer's contact numbers.

I like to know about a boat builder's dealer network - who, where, how close?

Eventually, I will purchase another C-Dory and I'd like to know who I can contact without it being controlled by someone. Example: Weifing's is not local but by reputation , I may go the distance and purchase from them instead of a closer dealer.

Allan,

I, too, have heard excellent comments about Wefings, but you also have an excellent dealer not too far from you, Mobile East Marine, in Alliance NC; not too far from Oriental.

Gene and Carrie Wooster treat their customers very well and Gene has worked on Valkyrie twice when we were in the area, most recently two weeks ago just before we headed south on the ICW. In fact, Gene once talked me out of two additions to our 22 on which he could have made some money, saying that the items wouldn't hold up in the long run.

You might want to keep them in mind.

Regards,

Nick

Thanks for the positive input ! I did just place an order and we will try to stock a boat or two to test the new boat market. Carrie and Gene at Mobile East are great folks . Carrie has stepped up and placed some orders which helps Triton alot . Now that we have [hopefully] our oil fiasco over with , we will do the same . As far as I know there will be just a select few dealers . Back in the old days out east there was one in Fl and one in Md. They sold everything they could get . Times have changed , be the C dory appeal lives on.

I agree with Charlie and Nick, Mobile East has a good reputation for service. My point was you shouldn't have to jump thru hoops to find out who the dealers are.

I bought my new 2006 22 C Dory from Cutter Marine in Maryland who then was dropped as a dealer. An Annapolis, Md sailboat dealer then picked up the C Dory line . Are they still selling them?

Somewhere on the C Dory/ Triton Marine website I should be able to look up who are the dealers without waiting for them to get back to me.

Make it simple and easy for the consumer. jmo

Sail Annapolis used to carry C-Dory but they no longer list them on their Web site. I talked to them a few years ago when they were still a dealer, but they didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about carrying a POWER BOAT at a place called Sail Annapolis...

Gene & Carrie at Mobile East Marine are outstanding people. I bought my C-Dory from them in 2006. Very pleased with their service and their friendship!

I agree with Al, we bought a 2007 22ft from them new, and have had no regrets, we live about 275 miles from them and have had no problems with service. Jim

We have been cruising the rivers heading south from the C-Dory Gathering in Guttenberg, IA in Sept. We have reached Apalachicola, FL and needed a 1000 hr ck on our Honda outboard so we contacted Wefings in Eastpoint. What an outstanding dealer! We contacted Marc and he recommended a marina with a good ramp. He came over, loaded us up and took us to his shop where Alan did a great job, then Marc returned us to the marina, unloaded us and we will now continue on our travels. Marc & his staff were so accomodating & great to work with. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing service or looking for a new/used boat. We will definitely return.
THANKS, Marc

I have heard nothing but great things about Marc & Wefings!

Haven't met them yet, but I suspect C-Gypsy will eventually make it that far south.

Forgot to mention that Marc (Wefings) has a new 2012 C-Dory & Ranger Tug. Stop at the boat shows and send your friends to see them. Nice looking boats.

Not all dealers are created equal unfortunately and there are consequences to bad customer service. I would not return to my dealer if they were giving them away (assuming they are still a dealer).

The best thing to do of course is to come here and find out who the good dealers are. The cost to have a C-Dory shipped from a good dealer is very well worth it. Marc at Wefings kindly offered me help with my purchase even though it was not his sale.

Allan,

I agree with others that have mentioned Mobile East Marine as an excellent dealer. We purchased our 2006 16 Cruiser new from them and just 2 days ago purchased a new 2012 22 Cruiser from Mobile East Marine. They are 300 hundred miles from us and it is well worth the trip to deal with Gene and Carrie.

Yeah, yeah, Marc's a great guy, Wefings does quality work, they couldn't be more helpful, etc, etc. Are you going to tell us more about your trip down the rivers to the Gulf? :D
