C-Dory Burgee Order!

Joe,
I can not for the life of me understand how you have had the fortatude to stick with this project for 10 pages worth. I would have bailed out at about page three.

I know the link to the burgee shoppe and I don't have any problem placing my order for the "In Stock" version on my own.

Thank you for trying.

To quote Byrdman: Never Deny Yourself The Pleasure of Helping Others but remember No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.

Best Wishes,
Mike

Joe – don't give up on us so quickly. Give the members a chance to send their PM's to you with their vote. It is not easy being a leader and you have to be willing to take some arrows in the process. If you cut and run just because of some unintended arrows that are not intended for you personally but non-the-less hit you, the whole process will fall apart and you have taken us too far to let that happen. Take control again and follow through.

I vote that you continue with the process and I vote for E because we are voting for a C-Brat burgee, not a C-Dory or TomCat or Ranger-Tug burgee. If we are voting for a C-Dory burgee then a C-Dory boat would be appropriate, but then which one? A 16, 19, 22, or 25. Then what model should go on it? Angler or Cruiser? The E burgee is generic enough to represent all C-Brats.

My only problem with E is whoever designed it miss-placed the dash in the C. It is a little high and should be lined up with the middle of the B.

Not being a burgee guy none of this does anything for me other than provide ammusement.
One thought I did have earlier today is that you guys might consider just mounting a shepard staff on your boats in place of a pole and burgee. It has that c shaped top which could somehow be tied to our group but it also could be construed as a question mark which might be more approprate. If you all had a big question mark riding proud soon everyone would recognise you as one of those guys who could not make up their minds. Any way this is all in fun, do what you will. Im gonna refrain from getting all giddy about this one.

Thanks, all, for your input on this. I've run out of energy and patience on trying to reach consensus here.

Oldgrowth Dave, Jim, and others have contributed greatly to this effort, and I deeply appreciate it.

But it's time for someone else to pick up the banner (or burgee) and run with it.

I tried to force some decisions to be made earlier tonight because I was ready to get on with it, not wanting to go through any more negotiating and re-negotiating the details of the burgee or spirit of the processss.

I felt we were in need of some means of forcing some choices to be made, even though there were details unsettled, as I was at the end of my patience for this process.

So someone else can pick up where we left off before the forced vote and finish the negotiating process and take orders.

Thanks for the fun!

Joe.

Joe,

Thank you very much for your time and effort on this project. Since I'm heading the cabin-door-opening-window project, I'll leave this for someone else to finish. Oldgrowth?? I'm voting for E and will let you move the dash without comment (however, the dash appears centered on the C, so C or B or a compromise?).

Like Dave said. I vote for E. We are C-Brats and E is simple enough to easily recognized. :thup

My 2¢

I've been gone for a week, and will admit that I stopped less than half way through the reading of this thread and jumped right to the end for this post. So it is possible that Bill has already stated this previously, but here is the official position of the C-Brat Administration:

Y'all can fly whatever flag you want!

For those of you worried about the obverse side of the burgee, I belong to the Anacortes Yacht Club, and their burgee has a big A on it but the A is only visible from one side. So I suspect that many if not most burgees are single-sided. That's OK with me.

I just got home from a trip and checked my AYC Burgee. The A is visible from both sides. My bad. Obviously, the A reverses well. So I guess we should get a design that can be sewen so as to look good from both sides.

P.S. I posted this before reading the whole 11 pages. Sorry to see that the group purchase is falling apart because of a lack of consensus. Someone said there is a link to a place where you can order your own from burgees in stock. What is that link, please?

WOW
Joe you have got the patience of Jobe.
I got my"C-Dory" burgee (yes I considered this to be a C-Dory burgee, not a Cdog or Cbrat burgee) as Ken was folding up the other site. I have flown it with pride ever since.

Not here to rehash and open wounds. And I will admit that I did not read all ten pages of posts. If burgees were ordered, I missed out. I contacted Burgees.com and there were 6 C-Dory Burgees left - at $25 each plus $5 shipping. I bought one. These are the ones the C-Dogs used. If anyone is interested, you can call Burgees.com at 562-594-8265 (after 12 Pacific Coast Time - the owner had open heart surgery and sleeps late) and order one of the 5 remaining.

Please do not kill the messenger:

John "The Messenger" -

No problem, bud!

I just gave up trying to get to a consensus while the boys in the band were having fun blowin' some wild notes!

Took my part too seriously!

Still here and a happy camper, no harm done!

Thanks for your investigation and report!

Hope those interested will take advantage of the opportunity to own one.

Just for clarification:

No C-Brat burgees were ever produced, due to all the fuss, etc. on the pages above. So there are none ready made to sell, etc.

The ones that are mentioned by Tom and others above are from the C-Dogs (C-Dory Owner's Group) site that was in place previously to the founding of the C-Brats site by Mike and Bill (and Greg/Redfox).
