From whom? Just curious.
Perhaps a bad choice of words, but I did know that I could
1. Identify the burgee, and
2. Locate the original source.
I also anticipated that once I'd done the above, that folks would be interested in obtaining them, and that they would be looking for someone to organize the effort. I thought that I could do the group a simple favor by going ahead and volunteering to take and place the orders.
I also suspected that there might be some resistance to the old logo/burgee because anything associated with that era and fiasco brings strong feelings from a few who won't seem to let it rest.
But the design is itself very simple, straightforward, and artistically pleasing. If so, why re-invent the wheel?
And for that matter, if I'm not mistaken, the pennant came from the era of the C-Dog site that followed the big problem, and many of us were members of both sites during those following years and feel quite comfortable with this burgee as it represents "C-Dorys" to us, and not "C-Dogs" or anything else.
I did also consider the possibility of designing a new burgee, but that, for me at least, was beyond the scope of what I had time to commit to.
In the final analysis, I did, in fact, go ahead and let interest develop to see if there was sufficient interest in
this burgee to pursue obtaining some as a simple, straight-forward task.
If someone else wants to re-invent the burgee, be my guest!
Maybe we need two burgees, anyway, like having two political parties in a two-party system!
Or............................ maybe we don't want to go there, after all!
Thanks for asking!
Joe.
